Very pleased
We bought this to replace an existing shower valve which had a square face plate and were trying to avoid having to tear apart the wall and its expensive marble tiling. We also wanted something in a period style to fit with the rest of the bathroom. This one fitted the bill. It was just wide enough to cover the gap where the previous valve had been installed so the plumber only had to extend a few inches to cater for the extra length. The valve also had the advantage in being quite shallow in depth (it was going into a stud wall cavity), shallower than its predecessor which made things a lot easier for the plumber. He told us he likes Bristan shower valves as they are straightforward to install and once installed he gets few problems with them. We changed the valve because the old one (in fact just 2/3 years old, had a single control for flow and temperature and the way the it worked meant that the mechanism was being worn down. This meant problems with stopping the flow and maintaining the temperature. The new controls are fine with the on/off moving in the opposite way to the temperature. The taps move smoothly and the temperature and flow respond quickly. All told then we are happy, particularly as the installation didn't involve damage to the surrounding tiling.
