Does the spatula end flex? The old ones were very flexible but these days they are all so stiff.

Yes, the spatula does flex, and it works quite well. It may not be quite as soft as the old ones. But I suspect that one reason is that over time the rubber softens. So when you compare the new one with the old one, they will be different.

Is the scraper part truly rubber, or stiff plastic junk?

Thank you for choosing Rubbermaid Commercial. Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality and service. The Rubbermaid Commercial FG1901000000 Scraper, blade is made of Thermoplastic rubber.

What is the width of head on the 9.5 inch scraper

What is the width of head on the 9.5 inch scraper is 2 inches

So, is the handle "sturdy"? I hate when trying to fold a heavy batter/etc if the handle bends or is flimsy.

I've not had a problem with them folding batters. Very sturdy. We have a silicone spatula that is like that. Flimsy. That's one of the reason's I like these. They clean well and have good handles.
