Eagle Rising: The Next War (Kirov Series Book 47)

I've read all of this series and my level of interest has waxed and waned over time. Lately though I have been astonished to see the parallels with our country at this time. John certainly has 're-captured my interest. Keep them coming!

Great entry. Most of the action is of the ground variety. JS has gamed the action out which makes things believable. One of his strengths as a writer is to plug weapons, terrain and unit force on force to play out the action. As events unfold the risk of a nuclear exchange grows. Throw in certain characters playing games and the reader gets a enjoyable tale of war and intrigue. The ending sets up events I look forward to reading. It's taken over 48 books but is Kirov and her crew finally on the side of the angels? The characters have come to terms with themselves and each other. Karpov has seemed to mellow over the last couple of entries.

I'm sure that the Kirov series is the longest sci-fi novel ever written. It's also one of the best researched. It puts Turtledove and Birmingham to shame with character development.

This series is still going strong. Good modern ground combat. Can’t wait until the next book comes out. Worth your money
