I think the rest of the reviews have covered the quality and sturdiness of the item. As you can probably tell from the photos, the base is very big. It takes up a lot of space on my patio, but it definitely works. Size-wise, it fits perfectly with my Bluu Cantilever umbrella stand. On to the hack.... Someone was kind enough to post a review on how to fill the base with sand quickly called "Read this Assemby Cheat", to simplify what otherwise could be a very tedious process. Using their terrific idea as a baseline, I modified it somewhat and it worked very well for me. I took a 2-liter bottle as recommended and cut it in half to work as funnel into the base. With a little bit of effort, the spout of the 2-liter bottle fits perfectly into the filling base. However, instead of using the sand you find outdoors in your local big box retailer, which gets moist over time, get the sandbox sand they sell indoors (usually in the /concrete masonry section of the store). It is very fine sand (much finer than paver sand) and is completely dry. Four 50 lb bags should do it and it was less than $20 total for me. With the finer, dry sand, you can funnel it directly into each base without any water or clogging. This obviates the need for two funnels or using a hose to keep the sand flowing into the base. Just pour the sand directly into the funnel and it goes right into the base. When you've filled up each compartment with sand, you can then add water to finish it up. Since I did the filling by myself and the sand bags are unwieldy to start due to weight, when opening each new sand bag, I poured the first batch of sand into a bucket with a pouring spout. I then simply poured the sand from the bucket into the 2-liter bottle funnel. Once the sandbag was a little lighter, I could pour the sand directly from the bag into funnel. It worked great for me, so I hope it does for others as well.

excellent exactly what i needed for my cantilever umbrella filled w sand and sturdy so i have peace of mind. I accidentally ordered 2 and upon realizing i contacted seller which gave me a refund immediately but also told me to keep the item. in my book this is purely awesome. Thank you very much

Sturdy and fit nicely. Beware the screw-on caps can easily cross-thread, causing water to leak. You can use sand if that happens. It looks nice with the wicker pattern and locks down perfectly

They worked great for me! A lot less expensive than what was available at the store where I bought my cantilever umbrella. No regrets!

The price for these seems about right compared to the other brands. My problem with these so far (and this might be just the design of the product coupled with the design of the umbrella bases that uses these types of base weights) is that the curved edges of the umbrella base legs and the curved edges of these weights do not really have good solid overlap. The edge of the weights and the edge of the umbrella base legs have MAYBE a 1/8th inch overlap. Meaning, these weights work by sitting on the flared edges of the umbrella base legs. However, there are no straight/square edges to get a good solid overlap of the weights over the base legs which allows for the base to move about a little bit which translates into a slight wobble of the entire umbrella. These should be design to sit entirely over and on top of the umbrella base legs - that would insure real/proper base support (and allow no movement.) The idea is a good one - just not executed well.

We had this stand for 3 years now and it has cracks and not holding the water.

Filled up the 4 base containers for my 11ft offset umbrella with sand. After filling each container and getting them into place, my umbrella is solid and isn't going anywhere. I had some issues getting the clips in place but was able get them in place after some work. Also the clips feel like they might come out if anyone touches it so hopefully they don't pop out. Tried to follow another person's suggestion to use a 12L pop bottle top but I only had a water bottle, which still worked fine. I used a skinny branch i found to keep the sand moving down into the base plates. But it took several hours to get sand packed in
