High quality, evidence based ingredients sold individually at an amazing price. Build your own supplements!
I recently added a pre-workout shake to my regimen, but I had a lot of trouble finding one I liked for many reasons: 1. Ineffective ingredients (which can be either useless or harmful) 2. Inadequate or excessive amounts of the ingredients which are actually evidence based to provide you benefits. A pre-workout shake should not be one-size-fits-all. 3. CAFFEINE! (and other stimulants) - I know it is effective at giving you a boost, but I workout at night within a few hours of sleeping... 4. Price - 30 servings for like $50? Forget that! BulkSupplements solved ALL my problems! By ordering four of the most scientifically proven pre-workout supplements in bulk, I saved money and have more control over what I am putting in my body and in what amounts. I ordered the following four products for my pre-workout: Beta Alanine Creatine Monohydrate BCAAs L-Citrulline BulkSupplements has a huge variety of products available at ridiculously good prices with a huge number of serving sizes. Instead of dropping $50 for about 30 servings, I have hundreds of servings for about the same price. I have used the above four ingredients mixed with a bit of water about 10 times now. Some observations: PROS - They WORK! There is a noticeable difference in my workouts. I feel more energized (and less lethargic mid-set), I have more power behind each rep, and I am seeing results a lot faster. - They take about 15-30 minutes to "kick in" depending on how big/recent my last meal was. - I am able to experiment with proportions of each ingredient to find the best fit for me. - As I have a chance to do more research I will be able to add new products to my regimen easily since I can buy each one individually. - Most importantly, I love that I have these ingredients as separate packages! This enables me to use each ingredient for multiple purposes (like using the BCAAs in both my pre-workout and my post-workout; allowing me to saturate with higher doses of creatine before I go down to a maintenance level, etc.) CONS - Taste and appearance. Yeah, pre-mixed pre-workouts probably taste better and look like a fancy sports drink because they are filled with Xylitol and Yellow-80, so my mixture of 4 ingredients plus a little water leaves me gagging over the sink trying to choke it down. But I kind of expected that. You may be able to mix this with orange juice or something to make it less awful? - Packaging. No scoops and the zip lock is kind of hard to close. Also, the bags are pretty inflexible, so I have to shove them down into the drawer I store them in.

Another Sample Item That Became a Must-Have In My Workout Stack!
I really like this company and all their products I tried so far, and I have tried quite a few! Great quality in a non-flashy, sturdy bag that has a zip-lock. All products have very little or no smell from I could tell and more importantly, they all mixed really well with my drinks. The one that smelled kinda bad was Agmatine. Now, back to BCAA. I didn't know anything about this product but after buying some of their other products they sent me an e-mail asking me to pick a product to receive as a free sample (free shipping too) and all they asked was a review of it! How cool is that? So, after some browsing the list of their products and some online research, I decided on trying the BCAA. They sent me a 100gr bag! First week I didn't get a chance to consume it properly, then started using the suggested 1500mg but once a day. I felt slightly better after workouts but nothing significant. Then I wised up and started using 2-3 times a day, at least one 30-45 minutes before workouts and one about an hour after. Wow, even after only 2 workouts the result was impressive. On non-workout days, I still consume at least one dose but ideally and normally 2 doses. I will increase it to 3 on workout days as suggested on the package. It is, after all, what you are supposed to do, experiment on your own, but, prudently! The smarter and safer way is to start your dose on the small side. For instance, if recommended dosage is 1000mg (1gr) 3 times a day, start with 250mg or 500mg once or twice a day and observe your body's reaction for a few days and see if you notice the expected/anticipated changes or not. If not or very small, then increase the dosage and times, simple as that. I was so impressed with the product that I just ordered another 250g bag. I typically order bigger amounts so I can have a stash of the same supplements at home as well as at work (I hit the Gym right after work) which ensures that I get to take them at the suggested intervals. Along with Glutamine and AAKG, BCAA become a must for me. I have no post-workout soreness and I noticed I can last quite a bit longer in the gym just by taking the above 3. I am 43 and after a solid 60-90 minute workout, I have no problem riding my motorcycle back home. I still feel energetic and alert. Even if I get less than ideal hours of sleep, I noticed I was feeling peppier, sharper, and I am far from a morning person! Remember to consult your doctor beforehand if you have any doubts, or if you experience any issues after taking any kind of supplement. So far, no issues with any of the supplements from this vendor, very impressed with the company, their prices, their customer service and of course, their products. Highly recommended! My pre-workout stack (occasionally changing as it is an ongoing discovery): 1500mg L-Glutamine 1500mg AAKG 1500mg BCAA 500mg-750mg Beta Alanine 2000mg L-Arginine 2000mg L-Carnitine 1000mg-2000mg Creatine + occasionally: 750mg Agmatine - currently experimenting with I don't really lift heavy or push myself like I did when I was in my 20s but once in a blue moon, if I feel like pushing the old muscles a bit further, then I increase the AAKG, Beta Alanine, Creatine by 1000mg-1500mg more, and also add 1000mg L-Citrulline Malate plus 25mg-30mg of Dendrobium, which I got for testing. Post workout: 1500mg-3000mg L-Glutamine 1500mg AAKG 1500mg BCAA The only issues I encounter were: Once by accident, I took about 2000mg of Beta Alanine with the rest of the list. It was late in the afternoon and I turned into Hulk, yes I had way more power and felt good but I was a little too wired and made it very hard to fall asleep. Creatine may cause slight bloating or stomach discomfort, especially if taking with water on an empty stomach. too much of it can actually cause bowel movement in some cases but nothing sudden or extreme. I always mix Creatine with a low carb drink and eat a non-citrus fruit like a banana right before. I also take Acetyl L-Carnitine which actually does everything regular L-Carnitine does but it also hits the brain so it is awesome in the mornings, before breakfast but not so wise to take it later in the day. Anyhow, I yapped a bit too much and perhaps digress a tad too, if indeed so, please forgive me! Cheers, SMA

Perfect Flavorless BCAAs
Bulk Supplements is a great company. I bought this product after doing some research saying that if you work out in a "fasted" state you should be taking BCAAs to prevent your muscles being used as fuel for your workout. I am guilty in the fact that I do not like to eat before I workout. I know I should but I usually just take in a simple source of carbohydrates and focus more on post workout nutrition to refuel my muscles afterwards. Due to the fact that it is helping preserve my muscles when I workout I feel that I definitely recover quicker in between sets and also after my workout to get me back in the gym quicker. I love the fact that it is flavorless so I just add this into a shaker bottle of water and add my own water flavoring. I have had many supplements where they come flavored and the actual flavoring itself is tough to choke down. By being unflavored I can put in a flavor that I know I like and that I will be able to enjoy. Having said that I know that you don't take supplements for the flavor of them, you take them for the results they produce... This product has proven to be effective for me and makes me feel like I can push myself a little bit harder because I know that it will help me recover a little bit quicker. I also like the fact that when you order from Bulk Supplements you know exactly what you are getting with no fillers that other supplements companies may include and the price point is just right. It is great because I have started making my own preworkout and by buying the ingredients separately I can control the dosage and get the proper dosage to see results! Most supplement companies have "proprietary blends" and you don't know how much of each supplement is in the serving or it is greatly under the recommended dosage amount.

No nonsense BCAAs, I assume high quality, Measuring to 2/1/1 sucks without standard scoop.
I am trying this brand out for BCAAs just because it's clean, no-nonsense without artificial flavors and such. BCAAs are already reasonably cheap (average around $.03/gram) and I'm a little disappointed this supplement doesn't have a price break below that, unless I ordered 55lbs of the stuff (lmao). Anyway I've been using for a few weeks and can't complain. BCAAs are one of those supplements that I wouldn't know if it is working really well or not at all so I'm going with 4 stars (I like it) because I've received high-quality products from Bulksupps in the past so I'm using that to assume this is high-quality as well. PROS No nonsense flavors or fillers, just BCAA, probably high-quality. CONS Measurements - If you're shooting for an even 2000mg leucine, 1000mg isoleucine and 1000mg valine it takes some calculations and getting used to the measurements unless you want to weigh the powder every time (since it doesn't come with a scoop, amount is based on teaspoon fractions or weight with a scale) Price - No price difference between this product and others which have a flavor profile and taste much better, quality differences unknown. Package - I've ordered about a dozen items from bulksupplements and gawd I wish they would just seal the ziplock in the factory. When the product arrives, powder will inevitably have gotten into the ziplock strip during transit and it always takes a modestly unreasonable amount of effort to get the tracks clear of powder and get it sealed. Once you get the zip lock sealed the first time it will seal easily each time after that. Summary, this is not a supplement where my reaction was "Yes! This is awesome and what a great price too! Definitely my supplier from now on" My reaction is more like "Okay, I hope and assume this is high quality, I don't mind the no flavor and assume it's better than consuming a bunch of artificial ingredients everyday, but I do miss flavor a bit and I REALLY miss a standardized scoop to get the even 2000/1000/1000 mix." If this product was significantly cheaper without having to order an obscene amount than that would tip the scales in favor of me ordering in the future, but at this time I'm not sure if I will but I'm still happy to give it a chance.

An 100% honest review.
Honest review that most really want! I know some people read through reviews before purchasing things like this like myself. I have seen some reviews where they received a free offer for their review so I was kind of iffy about the reviews myself. My review is completely honest. I didn't get anything free and usually don't review products with a long paragraph but I feel this one deserves it. I have been doing cardio for over a year. Lifting for about 4 months. I have lost 50lbs in this timeframe and got to what I should weigh and a normal BMI. When I started lifting of course I gained a few pounds back but that's because I am gaining muscle and it's denser than fat. (My stomach measures smaller now than ever before) But with lifting , I am tired time I am done. I usually force myself to get through my reps and sets and I am on the couch all day after until I force myself to do cardio that evening. I have been taking this product for ONLY two days. The first day I mixed it with my smoothie. Terrible idea. It is so bitter. Almost like a metallic taste. It ruined my smoothie but I was still able to get it down by the hardest.(it was NOT gagging terrible but just gross) I expected this taste from all the reviews. But my workout. ... Wow! This was the plus side. I usually do 3 sets of 10 reps of every lift. This time I did 2 sets of 12 reps and the third set, I did 15 reps. I was able to push myself more. I didn't feel exhausted after either. Still had some energy. Now the second day taking this, I mixed it with a little water and took it like a shot of tequila. Fast and quick. (As long as you get It down, that's all that matters) I again, had a burst of energy within 30-45 minutes. I again did more sets and I even added an extra lift in I never did before. After I was done, I went outside and finally cleaned my carport that I been saying I was going to clean for months. Maybe this is all in my head? I am not sure. But I truly feel like it's working and time will definitely tell. As of now I am going to continue taking it like a shot because I LOVE this product! The label is different from the picture but I just take 3/4 tbsp like the original label says and it equals the same amount of mg the original label (picture) says and same servings (hope that makes sense) Give it a try and see for yourself.

Nothing Fancy, No Hype, Just Solid Product and eventual results.
In short: Wanted something simple, proven and I could readily mix with Gatorade, Powerade or other liquids. Goals with the product are to see testable performance gains over time, which I will. Long Story: Been weight lifting in some capacity since I was 16. I'm almost 40 and have been doing Crossfit for the last 3 years exclusively. I look like I workout but also have enough of a dad's bod not to be intimidating. You know the shape that someone says "oh they workout, but they also don't turn down taco's either." The current Male Champion at the Crossfit Games had some good advice in a recent movie about the CF Games. He said " buy products that have no hype or special blends. Simpler is better!" Been focusing on training & improving my diet over the last couple years so now is a good time to add supplements to shore up weak areas. Went with BCAA, Glutamine, Creatine Monohydrate because they have proven track record IMO and are as old as dirt in the supplement realm. Stumbled across Bulk Supplements on Amazon while doing some research. Seemed like a no-nonsense product with packaging and definitely NO HYPE marketing screaming " I'm the best so buy me." I mean it's basically white powder in a nice sealable white bag. So I ordered from them. The packages came as described. No scoops provided which is fine. Simple fine thread resealable bags (though I wish they went with the double seal method like zip lock does to help ensure freshness), though no trouble sealing bags so far. The taste mixed with just water is not very specific, not enjoyable either but very very and easily MASKABLE TASTE with any flavored liquid (simple go-to is chocolate milk). Product mixtures seem to dissolve clear with no clumps at all with little effort of stirring. Nice thing about CrossFit is that it constantly gives you measurable means & methods on your performance. I don't think these supplements will make or break me, but realistically give me a 2% gain. While that might not sound like a lot the compounding effects over months, days and years add up and that's what I am in for. I can already tell I can push myself just a little harder than I use to after about a month of using these supplements. The quantity should last me a few months and at the price point can't be beaten for quality. WIN-WIN in my book. Update: 12/4/2009. Love the products still and stand by them. I definitely can tell when I have been on them for longer than a week. Use them when trying to trim up and ready for competitions (local crossfit events) or other highly physically challenging situations. When I'm on glutamine, creatine, and BCAA (in order from most helpful to least helpful for me) I notice some bigger improvements than off when I'm off and just adjusting my diet. The biggest changes occur naturally when I clean up my diet for a while and add in supplementation. So even if "placebo is an effect" this stuff makes me feel better and allow myself to push harder during workouts. That's what I want and willing to pay for.

This seems to be a great product, I have been using for about 3 ...
This seems to be a great product, I have been using for about 3 weeks at the time I ordered creatine, glutamine, and BCAA 2:1:1 from Bulk Supplements on Amazon. The price and customer reviews sold me and I thought I'd give them a try. With the free item with review I ordered Horny Goat weed, its also pretty amazing but not for the reason you might think 1- to be honest the packaging is a pain in the rear, they just don't seal up easy to close- tho I understand its probably part of the pricing. 2- I've been lifting and/or strength training of some sort for 25 years, and I've honestly seen some of my greatest gains since I started on this combo of supplements from BulkSupplements. I've used creatine in the past, thru out most of my time lifting and know the benefits are great, and have tried many brands and really anymore only order micronized and don't care for the sugary filled flavor drinks that just seem to take you backwards. Their product is so finely ground (not salt crystal like granuals) that it, virtually all 3 of these disappear in my protein shake in the morning, leaving no taste. I even add these products on heavy lift days to my protein smoothies. 3- the Horny goat weed is a surprise to me, I've read how it'll make you vascular and as a natural herbal supplement I wanted to give it a try. BulkSupplements should give you some sort of heads up or instructions on what to do with it. I've read in the reviews that some add it to their protein shake, but that didn't work it just globbed up and was like eating a thick chewy slug in my shake. I also never found anything suggesting it would keep me from sleeping- My wife and I have been having detox tea at night and I tried for a few nights adding this to my tea but I didn't sleep at all any of those nights. I have now started adding it to my coffee in the morning. I get up about 5AM and am in the gym by 5:30 in the basement of our house. My workouts have been unreal and focus is intense- My gains have been enormous where I've been stuck or plateaued for some time before I made this order. The best part is the compliments I've already been getting- people notice! I had also read elsewhere to eat a banana 30 minutes prior to workout, doing this cup of coffee/Goat weed and a banana first thing in the morning, then sipping on my protein shake/supplement combo as noted above is the best combo I've found... 3 weeks into it still going strong! Highly recommend these products

Great! If you like being nauseous.
Preliminary review Performance: I have yet to notice much of a difference while taking this. I will do some more testing on it to see if there is any sort of added performance intra lift, and any hasted recovery. Side effects: The product no doubt, when taken at 5g per serving, 3-5 times a day, makes me nauseous, crampy, and gurgly, among other things that need not be mentioned, with EVERY dose. I have taken other BCAA's, including ON's amino Energy which has 5g eper serving (I take 2.5 pre workout... that means 12.5 g BCAA), and I have never experienced this. I have put all sorts of things in my stomach, and not very many things have EVER made my stomach do this. Mixability: It doesn't mix whatsoever in ANY freestanding liquid. However, I suppose if you were to mix it in say, a shake of some sort, you'd be fine, but then your shake would taste bad. Mixing it with water, juice, or anything that doesn't have substantial substance, is quite disappointing. Plus, it doesn't taste that great. In conclusion: Based off of what I've experienced thus far, there is no way that I would buy this again. BCAA's are not supposed to make you sick. I bought them, so I will continue to use them, but once the bag is gone, no more from Bulk Supplements. update: 1/17/15 After trying this product out further, and REALLY wanting it work, I am needing to drop the rating even further (*** to *). Taking BCAA at anything less than 5g per serving is kind of a waste of time. They should be taken at 5g pre, intra, post, and at least 2 other times throughout the day. If I were to attempt this, I would be sick all day. The effect that I get while training is such that it detracts greatly from my lifting experience, because I am constantly feeling nauseous, and constantly burping. Depending on how much I have left, I will likely mix it in with my protein powder and pray to God that is doesn't eff it up. There is no way I will be buying this again from this company. And, it in fact makes me ponder the quality of the rest of their products. Also, as with every other powder they have, they measuring chart is wildly incorrect. I suggest that you get yourself a scale that weighs down to 1/100 of a gram. You will be surprised at how inaccurate their measurements are. Take my review as a grain of salt, as most others seem to have great luck with it. But for some reason, my body does not like it.
