WWE: Royal Rumble 2017 (DVD)

The 2017 Royal Rumble is a very solid PPV that any real WWE fan should want to have in their collection or make a point of viewing. When the lowest thing on the under-card is a technically sound and exciting Women’s Championship Match between Charlotte and Bayley, you know that it’s going to be a good night. Follow that with Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns who decided to just go out there and have a demolition derby of a RAW Championship Match (with Chris Jericho hilariously suspended above the ring in a cage) and AJ Styles and John Cena who opted for a much more technical Smackdown Title Match and it’s an easy win.The Rumble was actually the only thing that prevented me from going full five stars this is awesome mode. While not horrible, I thought it was a little slow at moments and back loaded and more concerned with creating these halting epic moments rather than having a match with a logical flow. Compared to the under-card, the Rumble actually felt like a step down, but then again, maybe nothing could live up to that under-card.A very strong start to the year for the WWE

I'm giving this 3 stars mostly for the crystal clear HD presentation. It was a little uncomfortable watching Oldberg and the Blundertaker compete against guys half their age. The women's match was just silly.
