I asked this question, but I wasn't sure I understood the seller's answer. Is the coating on the inside of the kettle enamel, or the outside coating?

From what I I can ascertain, it seems to be enamel inside and out. And I’ve been using this kettle for over a year now and it has been wearing very well. No chips or any other problem. :)

Can this teapot be put in a microwave?

I have never put the kettle in the microwave--it is not meant to be used in there. It is metal and the rooster is a hard plastic. I use it on my gas stove only.

Can you get your hand inside it to clean it?

yes, I can BTW, I am female with average size hands. So, I can reach in from the top of the kettle and clean inside and even from the inside clean the spout as well. I find lemon juice for the water stains and soap and water the best cleansers.
