Monet: The Triumph of Impressionism

Received this today and am very happy with it. It is bigger than I expected - maybe a bit of a push to take it on a train trip as reading - but then again that might be exactly what I do tomorrow. Am writing this review as after reading previous reviews I wondered what the print quality of the paintings would be. I must say it is excellent. I'm really enjoying the images and looked real hard to see if I could detect any printing artifacts - but saw none. Am learning lots from the text. I've loved Monet for years and am ready to go a bit deeper in that journey. This book is perfect!!!

Simply a stunning book, quality that holds pride of place on my coffee table....so worth the purchase, love it ❤️

It’s a stunning book with loads of info not just his works , absolutely stunning

after seeing Monet's painting at National Gallery, I really wanted to learn more about the artist and own a book that contains the best of his works (or most popular ones?) as the colour looked like magically dancing on the canvas, so beautiful really struggle as there are a few options on Amazon, after discussing with the CS, there was no shortcut to decide which one best met my purpose until I received them and "inspect" with my eyes. so he (or she?) suggested that I could return the book that not match my expectations. Then I ordered 2 different versions. Both arrived the next day. The cover is beautiful so I even wanted to keep the plastic wrapping to minimize scratches of the cover "painting". lots of description, photos of non painting as background information. Then, the pictures of Monet's painting. really a lot ! I was aware one review indicating the reproduction was smeary , even muddy. I was hoping that may be only 3 or 4, or at most 7 or 8. Unfortunately more and more when i carefully flipped. I guess the resolution of some photo are really low thus the picture lost the texture totally. I thought as long as the painting i like most are ok, then it's still good to keep it for years. I went on but stuck. the colour looked strange and did not look the same as the real painting I saw though the description indicated there were the same. I wonder was it intentional because it's a book? I move the book to 2 other light sources and confirm to have same problem. then I remembered another comment in jan 2024, it said the book was printed in Hungary (typo hungry). then I checked mine, printed in China. the printer has different perception on colour? unfortunately I have to look for another Monet book with the colour right and return this one. very upset.

Item was damaged. I will return it and order a new one. Hopefully it will be not damaged the next time.
