One Size fits MOST Ab Mat.
This Ab Mat is for people that are Small/Medium to Medium/Large size. I am 32 years old 5’11 and weight 215. I personally have to keep readjusting my butt/core after doing 4 sit-ups fully extending my body and coming back to the sit-up position, the Mat just feels a little bit SMALL for me. The Ab Mat never moves and is secure on the ground, may be different if you are on carpet which is NOT recommended.Other then that if your a little smaller then me this Mat will work best for you.You actually do work out your abs a whole lot more because your core is lifted about 2 inches off the ground which in turn makes your legs and head extend an extra 2 inches towards the ground when you stretch your body for a sit up. That makes your abs extend more working your 8 pac abs instead of just working out your 6 pac abs.

Great - pain free and gift-worthy
I was thrown from a horse many years ago and my tailbone has not been able to tolerate sit-ups on carpet or with a thick yoga mat or with a towel. After a lot of research, I got this and I can once again do sit-ups! This is a huge help because it allows me to sleep better; my lower back does not hurt if I keep up with my sit-ups. I liked it so much that I got one for my dad who suffers from sciatica. He sometimes does his sit-ups, and sometimes just lays on the floor on his Tail Safe Ab Mat and the correct alignment helps. My bubble-butt is curvy so I do rock out of it after a couple of sit-ups. To work with this, I hold on to it with both hands - no hands behind-my-head sit-ups for me. It is pricey but I figured, if I'm going to get one I want it to be the best and only have to buy one.

Should have listened to the other reviewers who said it was too high...
I had very high hopes for this mat to save my butt from the dreaded crossfit tailbone cherry... and since I have a fairly flexible back, I didn't think that the height of the hump would bother me. I was wrong... not only is it about 2-3" taller than is comfortable (compared to other ab mats that I've used), the foam is slippery and I have to adjust my the position of my bottom after each situp. So I am returning it and will be looking for other options. The mat seems sturdy and well-made, I am sorry that it just doesn't work for me.

Happy tailbone
This was a great buy. I have issues with my tailbone and I have facet arthritis and a bulging disc in my L5 S1 all from the army. I have not been able to do situps for some time now. I just tried this product out and I am very happy I bought it. Zero pain where there is usually pain and the lumbar arch isnt too aggressive to hurt my lumbar.The only suggestion I would make is to lower the arch as it creates too much assistance for the sit up itself. That might not be a bad thing for some people. I think reducing the hump to half the size would be perfect for those looking for tailbone protection without losing 30%-40% of the rep.

Saving My Butt
The lumbar pad is exceptionally tall, but not unbearably uncomfortable. I imagine that it will drop lower the more that I use it - or maybe I’ll become more flexible from its use! Either way, I imagine this will work wonderfully over time.As for the tailbone protection:It feels great to separate my flat rear end from the floor, and it provides great support overall.

Great matt
Great protection for your butt bone. I had to almost stop doing any sort of sit-ups or crunches because of tailbone rash. This Matt provides cushion to eliminate that problem. Like other reviews have stated, It is a little high on the back but, that's a trade off I'm willing to make.

Perfect for protecting tailbone while doing sit ups/crunches
Absolutely love this thing. I can do sit ups/crunches without my tailbone rubbing on the ground. I’ve tried so many different things and they have all failed at protecting my tailbone, which was broken as a child.

Pad is too thick.
The concept and idea of Ab Mat are good. However, the hump is too thick and high. It puts a ton of strain on your lower back when attempting to go all the way down on a situp.
