Awesome Book
Awesome book, well written - very science based, but still comprehensable to a lay person.I've implemented this diet and found its worked well with noticable improvements in my health, including less colds and bugs so can only assume my immune system is working better. Also a hugh improvement in mood (easier to concentrate, less stroppy and more cheerful) and much less PMT.Each chapter has masses of studies referenced so I feel comfortable trusting their recomendations but equally I can check up on them if I want to.Love the book, love the blog. Money well spent

Fab!
Excellent book. Full of evidence based advice. I feel much better eating in this way - I have dropped a dress size, have better energy and I no longer need to use my reading glasses. Also, the diet (it includes butter, cream eggs, bacon amongst other things)is completely delicious and has eliminated food cravings.Dec 2012: I have just read the second edition - well worth buying - loads more information - the best paleo diet book out there. The diet continues to work well and my resistance to winter colds is awesome.

Impressive book.
This book is excellent for many reasons. It analyses what might constitute a healthful diet based on both biochemistry/physiology, evolutionary principles and clinical trials. It is well written and accessible to the non-scientist, yet has enough detail for scientists or science-minded readers. It also makes good sense and isn't just a rehash of other low-carb books. I suspect that Paul will be attacked from the low-carb and the high-carb low-fat camps. For the former he includes too many carbs and for the latter he includes too much fat! The author has been criticised on various blogs, but he always remains very polite and professional (unlike many bloggers) so that's another plus.

Eating for better health.
Good practical advice supporting the latest thinking of low sugar, low carb and higher fat intake, tending to paleo diet. Much analysis of individual nutritients, and supplement suggestions covering those which are often poorly provided in typical present day food.

Brilliant - but caution - if you like bread don't read this book!!
I LOVED this book. But be prepared! I'm a scientist by training so I was looking for a "diet" book (changing my diet, not "going on" one) that would really explain what's a healthy diet and why. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the writing style (make sure you get the second edition as it's a much better lead through the information). I haven't eaten bread or grains other than rice for nearly 10months now, and I feel healthy, have lost weight without trying, am never hungry. It's hard giving up the bread & sweets and cakes (though I'm still a chocolate demon) but it's worth it.

Anyone who cares about their health should read this book.
I've been following a paleo type diet for about 4 months now without necessarily knowing quite why certain foods were good or bad. This book explains healthy eating in a very clear way with clear explanations of the underlying physiology. I have started adjusting my diet a little to take on board the advice offered by PHD and will be interested to see if I notice any differences in my energy levels, or performance as a triathlete. The authors write clearly in a language I understand and would heartily recommend this book

I would fully recommend anyone suffering with ill health to read the Perfect Health Diet
I was so thankful I stumbled upon the Perfect Health Diet. After suffering with supposedly allergic rhinitus, gastric reflux, tmj, stress and neck muscle pain I had to do something. I'd already converted to vegetarian diet including fish and dairy thinking this was the right thing to do but obviously it wasn't for me. I've been visiting doctors and hospital for the last couple of years only to be told that it was a chronic condition and they could just treat the symptons. Only they couldn't and I was getting steadily worse with treatment of steriods and antibiotics. I knew it was diet but I didn't know how to fix it. Thank you so much Paul, I'm only in the transition phase after a couple of weeks but I have seen some improvement already. For anyone out there looking to improve their health and diet this is a must read. I find I have to keep reading it over again as there is so much to take in.
