Grade: A- I first started using this product when I was looking for a cheaper alternative to LayRite. That stuff is amazing but like most other pomades - pretty expensive for how fast I'd go through it. Blind Barber 90 proof is different but worked just as well for my hair. I'd consider the texture similar to a paste. Not terribly sticky to the touch but definitely has hold. Provides a nice layered look that'll last all day provided you use enough. Matte, no shine and NO CRUNCHY HAIR. Washes off easily with water - both your hands and your hair if you apply too much. Smells nice, kinda like sweet vanilla but by no means overpowering. TLDR: Great cheap pomade that works great for daily use or as a backup.

I buy this pomade every time that I need a replacement. It holds well and smells good.

Initially, this stuff is great. Awesome smell with the Tonka bean and definitely high hold, but remains flexable/moldable. I'm into cold weather now, but I'll be interested to see if this stuff turns into a greasy mess like some pomade during the hot summer months. As for cool/fair weather (less than 75F), it's been a great product! If this won't work for summer in my case, I'll switch back to the cream of coconut clay, that worked great this past summer. The only gripe I have with the product is how I received it. First of all, the hair product itself was fine, but did not have a seal underneath the lid. Another thing is the Amazon item sticker. I know this is pretty picky, but this is advertised like a "premium" men's hair product and it sure feels like it when it's not on sale. I'm not sure if Amazon or the 3rd party seller is to blame here, but I shouldn't have to deal with the label like this right on the top of the lid. Then spend the next 10 minutes picking off the underside layer of label paper that stayed on the super glue adhesive. C'mon guys...

As someone who's been using Axe hair products for over 10 years, I was always overwhelmed with the idea of finding something better. Ya know, typical "stick with what's working" guy. After finding this product featured in a few "best hair care" lists I decided to give it a try. WHAT. AN. UPGRADE. Wow! I never realized how hard it was to get the old stuff off my hands after applying, let alone out of my hair at the end of the day. Blind Barber 90 proof pomade comes right off my hands with a light rinse and washes out easily every night with just water. The matte finish is EXCELLENT as I don't like to look like i have ANY product in my hair. It does actually have slightly more "crunch" than expected, but once my hair is dry in the morning I just run my hands through it once and the crunch is gone leaving a nice manageable hold that lasts all day. I was even able to restyle my hair after weeding my yard! Very happy with this product. I've probably found what i'll be using for the NEXT 10+ years!

Feels, smells, and looks great. Doesn't make my hair feel too greasy. One of these lasts me >3 months, good value.

Easily the best pomade on the market for men. Not greasy and great hold. You do pay a premium but a little does go a long way.

I have to admit, overall the product isnt bad. There are a few things I dont like about it though. One is the fact that it is very expensive for the amount of product you're actually getting. Granted, a little bit of this stuff does go a long way, but common Blind Barber, a 1.7 oz container of pomade? Other hair product companies have a much more reasonable amount per container with a better price as well. Not saying their product is better or worse, but there are more economical options out there. Second, it makes your hair crunchy. Dont listen to the other comments that say "it leaves your hair natural, like nothing is in it" like I did. It doesn't. It leaves your hair basically the same way hair gel does, minus the high shine you get from the gel. I do not care for the "crunchy hair feeling" no matter what the product, so naturally this is my biggest complaint. Lastly, I wouldnt consider it a matte finish. It is a little on the sleeker side in my opinion, but still not as sleek as other pomades or gels. Other than that though, the product is exactly as advertised. It holds exceptionally well and lasts all day long, smells fresh and "old-school", and cleans out of your hair quite easily. If you dont mind the few things I mentioned above as the negatives with this product, I would buy it all day long over other brands.

This product works as expected. It gives you high hold and shine. It's easy to remove and works awesome with towel dumped hair. I can use it daily without any problem.

I was hard pressed to find a good hair pomade in my small town and didn't want to drive 40 min to the next city to get the one I normally use. I took a chance and ordered this one from Amazon and it's exactly what I wanted. It isn't greasy, or sticky and it keeps my hair looking matte, not shiny at all. I need very little to work on my pixie cut. The scent is pleasant and not overbearing at all. I will be sticking with this one going forward.

Good stuff

This pomade has the best strongest hold that I have ever found, it holds even in the worst conditions light rain or snow "tested" easy to rework if you have to and great scent. I was looking for something ANIMAL CRUELTY FREE and water based that would hold my difficult short hair in place all day all night if needed to, well I found it and I intend to stick with Blind Barber products for now! I will try the 60 proof wax and the 101 proof in the coming months it must be great for slightly longer hair too. Great product!
