Yes! I use regular ground coffee for my cold brew and these bags filter nicely with little to no grounds in my carafe.

Are these compostable after use?

Yes, especially if you make your own compost. Coffee, paper and string. No problem.

How many teaspoons of tea does it hold?

While making my cold brew coffee, I was able to get 16 tablespoons in the bag and still tie it closed.
