GREAT KAYAK HIGHLY RECOMENDED
I have been a kayaker since i was very young 12-13. I am now 52 plus. i have seen my share of kayaks come and go. I have whitewater, saltwater, and flat water. all around me in the pacific north west. i am 5-11 210 pounds.Now.. I needed a touring kayak with stability, speed, and style. all in a 13 foot long package around 50 pounds in weight. I have found that kayak in the conduit 13.handling: does not track great with out a fixed skeg or rudder. after i added a skeg i got the tracking i desired. I mean like it was on a rail. very little drift off. That in turn resulted in even greater speeds. I love this kayak design so much my wife now teases me by rubbing her hands together stooping forward in a mocking posture and whispers "MY PRECIOUS" ahh i love her. but that tells you something too. It's true, out of all of the models i have i love this one the most. foot pegs are good, space for all my gear. seat not bad at all. be sure to raise the back of the seat a bit from the lowest setting as it is shipped. Once raised i have had no issues at all with it's comfort. or as some have claimed it sticks. cured by simple raising the seat back just a bit.Mine came shipped for the most part ok? had scratches and a small 1/2 inch gouge on the bow that very nearly pierced the hull? I have patch compound already on hand so i put some on it and its been fine. With the color pattern it is even hard to spot the patch. That was a shipping issue not a kayak one.Love that it has dual bulkheads and dual buoyancy dry chambers. very important to me as i will have this on open saltwater. Puget Sound and Pacific. have used with the round sail design for kayaks in 18 to 20 mph winds and was fast fun and stable. got looks from others like mad. even got chased by kayakers who simply wanted to ask about it. they had trouble catching me i had to wait for them lol. its been a hoot.My wife, as you can probably tell, is rite on. this kayak is "MY PRECIOUS".very good kayak, very good length, very manageable in weight, well designed hull. with the addition of a skeg/rudder tracks on rails. fast and stable. highly recommended for this size needs. with skeg lifted out of water it becomes nimble and easy to maneuver around and through reads pads logs etc. shallow draft lets you go over waters obstacles with ease. not like my field n stream kayaks with deeper draft. i love those too fyi, they just have a different use for there design.if you don't have one get one before they are gone. a true diamond in the ruff as kayaks go.imagine yourself saying " my precious" over this kayak. you just mite.

Excellent intermediate lake or river kayak
Best kayak I've tried yet. Much faster than any I've tried previously (mostly 10' Otter and Sea Eagle). Tracking is excellent even without a rudder. A little harder to turn than smaller kayaks, but not unreasonably so. Definitely less primary stability than a very beginner kayak, but easy to get used to and the secondary stability seems excellent. The hatches are not very easy to close and can't really be reached while the kayak's in the water, but appear to be waterproof and are decently large. The on-deck storage space under bungees is easily reachable, however, and sufficient for recreational trips. The carry handles are very convenient. It's reasonably easy to pick up and throw on top of a large SUV.

Awesome
I bought this kayak with the intent of making it my lake kayak.Couldn't have made a better choice. It glides over the chop and cuts thru the tall stuff.Tracks well and plenty of storage.Awesome color.

Great Kayak and very easily delivery.
Just a great entry-level kayak. It tracks very straight, it is easy to turn, and it is stable in the water. The Amazon delivery process was very smooth. Delivered on time and the delivery guys carried the kayak right into the backyard.

Looks great..gets Great Looks.
Tracks great, fast. Initial stability is like more like a touring kayak. Secondary stability more than adequate. Well built and finished. The only thing lacking: more time on the water.

so I was surprised and not ready that this had rather poor initial and secondary stability characteristics
This is very well made and thoughtfully designed kayak, except for its rounded bottom profile, which rolled me into the water on my first boarding. Our Heritage tandem 14 is very stable, even in rough boat wakes on the bay, so I was surprised and not ready that this had rather poor initial and secondary stability characteristics. I immediately washed it, and returned it to its maker.
