A good book on Bhutan...
This is a story of the author who came to teach in Bhutan just after finishing her study in Canada....The contrasting difference between the modern civilized West and and the mystic tiny Bhutan....The simplicity of life, abidance of nature and time, religion and politics of Bhutan has been explained in a smooth as the mist and often humorous....I think apart from all others for only one reason the book is distinct is that it describes the natural beauty of Bhutan so well that the reader associates him with the place feel urge to go there.

Very disappointed.
I received a fake, pirated copy of this book instead of the original. Very disappointed.

Life at it's most raw and most exciting!
Absolutely loved this book!Am in the middle of organising my trip to Bhutan and this book is so brilliant. The author didn't know what to expect and was taken on an amazing adventure. I know this was written a while ago but the magic and spiritualism of this kingdom remains and having travelled this journey with Jamie, I can't wait to make my own adventures.

Stunning.
A wonderful wonderful book. So insightful on life in Bhutan and its inhabitants, also humourous and affecting. The author went through a huge transformation during her time in Bhutan and you live every minute of it with her. Vivid descriptions and fascinating characters run throughout the book. I wanted to find out much more about both Bhutan and Buddhism by the end of it. I can't recommend it enough.
