Amazing Trailer for a Trail Riding Pupper
We had been looking for a bike trailer so we could take our Italian Greyhound mix (15 lbs) with us on our e-bike excursions. I decided to spend a little more and go with Schwinn, rather than a random "TikTok" brand, and I'm not disappointed that I did. The Trailer breaks down compactly pretty easily for storage and transit. It's easy to setup and connect to your bike. There is just a lone nut that holds it to the axle of your rear wheel, then it just clips in with a pin. Barely adds any time to our setup. We go pretty quick on our e-bikes on crushed limestone trails. The trails can be windy and hilly, but through all the turns and hills, I hardly notice the trailer is back there. The dog is happily just looking around, soaking up the breeze and scents, waiting for our lunch/refreshment stop. We like the tall, bright orange flag too. Now my wife can easily find me on wooded, winding trails, because she can see the flag flapping in the breeze. We love that our pup can now enjoy us on our empty-nesting e-bike adventures.

Ozzi the cavapoo now comes with too :-)
After reading reviews and looking at many pet trailer options I chose the Schwinn. Great choice. The carton arrived undamaged. The product was super easy to assemble and had all the pieces; instructions were easy to follow. The new rubber smell of the interior mat was powerful so that went outside for many days. We didn’t have any fabric issues as some have had. I rather prefer the back entry door being solid fabric and not a screen because I’d rather my dog face forward and not be tempted to scratch at a back mesh screen. This adds a little to to the wind resistance but worth it. I will say it would be nice if the wheels were marked left and right. The tread pattern should face in such a way that if any water is in the road it should dissipate out the side of the tires and not be channeled to the center if put on the wrong side. Speaking of tires - the psi is 35 which is great for minimal rolling resistance but can make for a less than smooth ride at times, even on the best pavement so perhaps it’s better at 30 or maybe even 25 — can’t imagine taking this on a trail. Puppy would hate it. And make sure your trailer is tracking straight forward to promote long tread wear. Have an extra inner tube with you just in case. We slowly acclimated Ozzi to it by leaving it assembled in the living room for a week; put some toys in there; put some treats in there; and soon he’d go in on his own and just hang out. Then we’d get him set up in it with his blanket and small bed and tow him around the house treating along the way. This made his inaugural journey well liked. He was nervous, no doubt. Perhaps he read the reviews of 50 pounders shoe horned into this trailer with not great results. But being 15lbs it fits him perfectly and we’ll be off for many trips to the local donut shop :-). Enjoy and ride safely.

It's great and works perfectly.
So far I absolutely love this. Took 10 min from unboxing to ready to go. Instructions was not needed, everything made since. My dog freaked out the first ride, but I'm sure he will get use to it .. the Zippers seem a tad cheap but you get what you pay for. The frame seems strong and really steady. Up hill was not a problem, downhill I suggest using both brakes. It does require a tad more stopping power because of the weight.

Training Required
Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. I did a LOT of research on different models and was considering getting one for kids since they are bigger for the same if not less price. I purchased this for my 6 month old lab mix puppy - she's 34lbs and we hope she'll stay under 50lbs. Needless to say I was worried about this being too small since the weight says max 50lbs and it was hard to tell the actual interior dimensions of the trailer. I think the size is perfect - my thought is that for this to be on the smaller side is safer - if we got into an accident first off this would be easier to prevent because the smaller size makes for the trailer easier to tow/maneuver. Second, there would be less room for her to be thrown around (this is similar to why you get a tighter crate for your car). Here comes the cons to this product.... My dog HATED being in here even after I had it set up inside making it a happy always gets a treat when she's in there and goes in there. She's not really afraid of much - she's a city dog that's gotten a lot of exposure. On her first ride she had her favorite treat (she's very food motivated) and she didn't even touch it she was so stressed. She hated it so much that she busted through the netting then she was as happy as could be. I would just prefer her to be inside the metal part of the trailer for her safety. I'll be adding a piece of plexi to where she busted through and have stitched up the hole. If I were to design 2.0 of this trailer I'd only allow the opening & netting to be at the top so the dog can stick their head out but not risk wanting to get out. THere's an opening at the back where the dog enters and exits the trailer so the opening that faces the bike 'driver' is not necessary. I'll continue to train her to be comfortable being in there (she currently scream barks bloody murder and scratches profusely to try to escape) or just cave and let her ride with her head sticking out.

Your dog will love you for it!
I first bought this item in 2019. It has been wonderful. I have put over 7000 miles on the bike pulling my smiling dogs behind. Replaced the tires once - they needed it. Little duck tape here and there. It performed excellent The other day one axle broke - after all those miles, and I immediately ordered another Rascal. I love it that much.

Would give 10 stars if I could
My boyfriend has been bugging me to go bike riding with him but I never wanted to because I didn't want to leave my little fur baby behind. I didn't want to just attach her leash to my bike handle and ride with her along side because it's just such a dangerous idea. So we decided to get this pet trailer so we could take her with us safely. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. And compared to other pricier pet trailers out there that are hundreds of dollars, I have no doubt that I made the right choice in this one. It was only $85.00 when I paid for it. Worth every penny and then some! It only took a few minutes for us to put it together. My boyfriend is an avid cyclist and kept praising how well designed it is. They thought of everything when they designed this pet trailer! There's a small little strap and hook to attach to her harness so she doesn't get too far if she tries to jump out. My boyfriend mentioned some mechanism on the wheels that help absorb the bumpiness on the road to ensure a smoother ride for our pup. There's a small pocket on the top if you want to store the pins after taking it apart and folding up. All the features it is designed with are functional and practical. There aren't many bells and whistles on this and that's how we like it. It's very cute and the little flag is adorable. Aesthetically it is very tastefully designed. It's also very sturdy. I have a 23-25lb beagle and there is plenty of room inside for her and another dog if one of her buddies wanna hitch a ride. We put a blanket and some toys with her but she doesn't care. She just loves the feel of the wind blowing through her ears. She looks so cute riding in it and she really seems to enjoy it. (see pic) When we're done with our bike ride, it folds up nice and neat to store until next time. We have alternated with attaching the trailer to each of our bikes and we both felt that there was barely any extra weight we were pulling and it was very smooth. Neither of us felt a difference. He even fights with me over who gets to pull her on the bike! As others have mentioned there is a strong rubbery smell when we first unpacked it however it went away after letting it sit out of the box overnight. After our bike ride the next day the smell went away. It is not that big of a deal. So my boyfriend concluded there is no reason for us to drive anywhere from now on now that we have our bike riding solution for our little baby. All that's left now is to get her a little doggie helmet and we will be all set. :)

Great!
I bought one of these to take several of my pets on rides with me. The trailer assembled quickly and easily, and getting the coupler mounted on the bicycle was simple as well. Once it's all together, it's very solidly constructed and the connection to the bike is top notch. All of the hardware included is good quality...and the trailer itself is good quality. The stitching and zippers on the material all seem well made, and I have no fear of it ripping or the pets managing to pull open one of the zippers on their own. So far I've taken it for several rides with my two dogs, a 10 pound chihuahua and a 12 pound muttly chihuahua. They seem to like it, and it seems to keep them comfortable. They both just sat in the trailer and enjoyed the scenery!!! I have plans to take one of my cats...one that is a bit more rambunctious...out in the trailer to see if it can stimulate his energy a bit and tucker him out at home!!! One thing to note...when pulling the trailer and any animals in it, it's going to change the workout you normally get while riding, simply because of the fact that you're now hauling around 25 pounds of trailer and however many pounds of animals...in my case, it was like strapping 50 pounds of extra weight to the back of the bike. Sure, it's on wheels, but at the end of the ride I could definitely feel that it had taken more of a toll on my legs than when I ride that route without the trailer mounted. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. It will allow me to take the dogs on rides, and hopefully allow my wife and I to take them to enjoy the bike path and days out in the park with us.

Great buy for the price, and you can make some small improvements yourself.
This was $100 very well spent! I bike a lot around town and I got the trailer so that I can bring my dog places with me without having to get in the car or take 3-4x longer by walking. The trailer is well built, overall. The fabric is a bit thin, if you're looking for this to last years, but any tears can be fixed with a patch. Early on, the trailer turned over because of a large pothole and a simultaneous shift in my dog's weight - I used Gear Aid Tenacious Tape to repair the fabric at the point where it scraped the pavement and it is holding well so far. A few improvements I have made: (1) hot glued some perforated rubber sheeting on the bottom to increase friction; (2) shortened the leash tether in the trailer so that my dog can't move too far forward and be tempted to jump out; (3) added some elastic loops to tie back the mesh front panel so it does not flap around when unzipped; (4) added 'R' and 'L' labels to the wheel axles so when I take them off they go back to the correct side (not a huge deal but the tire tread is meant to rotate one direction). Also, I would suggest clipping a bike light to the back of the trailer if biking in the morning or evening; the bright color of the trailer helps but some drivers are always going to be a bit oblivious to cyclists. I'm not sure how the axle bearings on this are made, but I give them a bit of WD-40 every once in a while to keep things squeak-free and turning smoothly. Overall, these are very minor things and cost me just a few dollars. I saved a lot of money by buying this model instead of a more expensive one, so I don't mind putting in a bit of effort. It took my dog a little while to get used to riding in the trailer. The shorter leash tether helped to keep him restrained a bit more and from very early on I started the rule of picking him up to get him in and out. I suppose I could have used the back door for this, but I figured that would be more difficult to teach. He seems to at least tolerate the trailer after 20+ rides. It helps that we always go somewhere new/fun when using it. I consistently get a lot of pointing and remarks from pedestrians and drivers about the whole situation, which I actually kind of like (most of them think it's cute and only a few think it's pathetic).

Great set up
Perfect for what we were looking for. We have 2 mini schnauzers about 15 lbs each and they both fit in the trailer comfortably, with extra moving around room. Very easy to assemble, took me about 5 minutes to attach the bracket on the bike, and assemble the trailer. Folds down nicely for easy transport, we are campers so this feature is great. I bought an extra bracket so my husband and I both have a bracket on our bikes. Bike stands up nicely with the kick stand down to load and unload the dogs, rides very smooth. I could hardly tell I was pulling anything. I would definitely recommend this trailer.

Genial!
Más de tres años con él. De calidad. Eficiente para perros pequeños; duda en perros grandes. Compatible con cualquier bicicleta. Se guarda bien.
