A Story Of Hearts
This book is a great read for anyone who still has a sense of imagination and a love of self struggle, self truths and good people winning. A story of believing in the chance that the unbelievable will happen. A story of love in many forms. A family with such devotion and love to one another that no matter what, they are intertwined in all aspects of their individual life. In an almost childlike desire, they trust where trust makes no sense in reality. The dreamer that just wants to win one time. The Girl that has no self worth as a woman, at least not the kind she needs and wants. The Dad who love so much and huts with each of his children. The sons, one overbearing out of a duty to be strong and do right and the younger son that just wants to be a young man and discover every part of life in his world. The heartache and healing of a sheriffs emotions and the push to move forward. The sheriff seems to understand the hard healing he is going through and rides it out for his own hope and dreams of a new love. This story shows an America that was a great time in our history and shows Americans at collective best. If you let it, it takes you away and inserts you into an almost magical yet real moment in everyday life on a farm in a small town where people are not perfect but caring and moving forward as best they can. NOTE: This story has been made into a movie and made and remade into stage plays over many years.

The Rainmaker
This is an amazing recording of a heartbreaking play. All the parts are well cast, and listening to them as they go about an extraordinary ordinary day in their lives brought home farm life to me. I did cry as Starbuck taught Lizzie how to be noticed and pretty, and wanted to hurt Noah for hurting Lizzie. That is the power of this play, what it gets you to feel. Led by Jayne Atkinson as Lizzie, the cast steps up to an amazing text and brings it to life so well. I wish that I could go back in time and see this live.

Rainmaker is among the best...
Rainmaker is among my favorite plays. I played File in a Special Services production while stationed in Germany 1957. I've since directed it several times. It is always a wonderful experience of actors and is a sure crowd pleaser.

A great, simple play for all ages
In the 1950's my buddy and I tried to put on this lovely play at College. It had already been a hit movie with Marilyn Monroe. My buddy and I were expelled for a couple of days because the play itselfwas deemed too sexual.Next day when the media got involved the President found his photo on thefront page of the Toronto newspaper, next to a photo of Marilyn Monroe.Aw, revenge is sweet.I bought this a reminder for my buddy and my memory-file. Still charmingas ever.
