BrooksWomen's Ghost 14 Neutral Running Shoe

I just got these today in time for my exercise class. I have a bunion on my right foot and the shoe was very forgiving for that as shown in photo. The wide base helps with balance a lot. We do a lot of balance work in my Silver Sneakers class and I was able to do the whole routine without putting my foot down. The back of the shoe comes up high. Some have said this is uncomfortable for them but I didn’t find it to be a problem. I wear a size 5 and that is what I bought, 5 medium and they fit just right. So, my initial thoughts about the shoes are excellent! And so very pretty!

These Brooks shoes are very comfortable. They accommodate my custom-made orthotics which makes it very easy to remove the insoles from the shoes and replace them with my orthotics whenever I wear them, and they have all the support I need. I love the color and comfort.

I was hesitant to spend this much money on a pair of sneakers for walking my dog, but I've been plagued with relentless plantar fasciitis pain in my right heel, and it has kept me from being active the way I want to be. I was in constant, 24/7 pain, even when sitting. It was excrutiating, and I just couldn't take it any more. I joined a support group on Facebook, and tons of people recommended these shoes specifically. I was willing to try anything at that point, so I used the "try before you buy" program to see how they worked for me. I felt a difference as soon as I put them on! The most noticeable difference is that this particular shoe gives your foot a pronounced tilt forward, taking the constant pressure off your heel and shifting the impact forward to the ball of your foot. This brought immediate relief! Also, I had purchased some Dr. Scholls Plantar Fasciitis insoles previously to use in other shoes, and I noticed that the insoles that come in these shoes are almost identical to the thickness and shape of those, except that the ones in these shoes have an even higher arch support. I can walk in these and not feel like I'm walking on rocks under my heel. When I sit, there's not the constant, throbbing pain that continues. I experienced relief from the very first day I put them on, and it has gradually improved. So I didn't even need the full 7-day trial to know that these were golden! So if you have this type of foot problem, feel confident that these shoes will help you ease the discomfort. Also, I have a very narrow foot, and I was pleasantly surprised that this brand sells narrow widths. My narrow (and thin from top to bottom) foot usually makes it quite difficult to get a good fit in any type of shoe, but these are magical! This was my first Brooks purchase, but I will definitely be back again when I need to replace these shoes. I highly recommend them! I'm also pleasantly surprised that such a solid, supportive shoe is so very lighweight. I didn't expect they would be so airy, but they really are so great for everyday wear.

The cushioning in the Ghost 14 is indeed outstanding. The shoes provide excellent impact absorption, which helps with my back pain.However, I have normal arches in my feet, and I expected a neutral running shoe like the Ghost 14 to fit comfortably. Unfortunately, the arch support area in these shoes is noticeably narrow and the arch support is too high for my neutral feet. The shoes caused both the arch of my feet and the outsides of my feet to hurt. The shoes were not comfortable from the beginning and it took about a month to break them in. Although I wear these to exercise, they are not my go-to shoes.

Love this shoe. Has been great for everything! Have worn them to Disney three different times for an entire week and my feet never hurt once!

I have a bunion on 1 foot and a frozen toe on the other foot and my podiatrist recommended these shoes for me to walk in and exercise in. They have a wider tow box than a lot of other brands and are super comfortable on my feet. I just got back from the gym and have absolutely, no pain anywhere on my feet! Not the most glamorous shoes but if your feet hurt, then that’s all you can think about and I don’t want to think about pain! Love them!

I am in nursing school, so during clinicals, I am on my feet all day. These shoes are incredibly comfortable and the fit was perfect.

I just bought the second pair. This is an excellent running shoe for the right foot fitting. Approximately 1,000k travelled before noting decrease in cushioning. The longest lasting cushioning of any shoe I have owned. Fairly water repellent in heavy rain with slight leakage in puddles. Repelled dirt on the dusty trails with sturdy foot and ankle support. Worth the price.

These are the best shoes I've every worn .. Brooks Ghost ... although everyone foot is different for me, someone who broke both feet and have always had pain and walking issues these shoes allow me to walk as far and long as I want no issue
