Q: what is the diameter of the bottom of the pin?

The bottom of the pins are 4.2mm/0.17inch on average from what I have. You can use a small piece of x-tra fine sandpaper to adjust if too small. If your holes are too large, you can always try wax paper in very small strips to shim. These are not bad, maybe a little darker than the photo. I would probably buy x2 sets and pick the best and return the others as a set if I could do it again. Hope this helps ya.

I have put them on a Taylor acoustic and they fit perfectly if that is of any help - I think they are a fairly universal, one size fits all and if they are too big a couple of minutes with some sandpapaer will take care of that
