Expensive saffron with no aroma and a report you can't verify
The strands look fine, right shape, right color. But there's basically no smell, and after sitting in water for 15 minutes the color release was very light. Nothing like good Kashmiri saffron. The lab report they include sounds impressive but you can't actually verify it. The QR code is unreadable, and the Eurofins portal needs a separate code you can only get through that QR. Dead end. Other reviewers have complained about the same thing and nothing has changed. Should've known better than to hope! And here's the thing: the report itself shows a colouring strength of 134. ISO Category I requires 190+. They call it Grade A anyway. No aroma and weak color release are exactly what you'd expect from old or badly stored saffron. So it's probably real saffron, just not the premium product they're selling it as.

Analytical report looks fake
The product is sent along with a analytical report stating that it is GRADE A quality. The report cannot be authenticated. The QR code cannot be scanned. The report has no contact details like email ID or mobile phone number. It has the address of Rasaayanam Enterprises - Faridabad. Looks highly fake in the absence of the above details

I Expected to be Ripped Off. I Can't Believe This is Legit. But it Is.
Lots of saffron on the market isn't even saffron. And virtually no Kashmiri saffron is really from Kashmir (very little is produced there). Even in India, "Kashmiri Saffron" is inevitably a scam.I took a chance, despite this vendor's assurance that he'd include a "lab report", as if saffron quality or origin were scientifically verifiable. I was 99% sure I'd be ripped off, but I took a chance. It's *great*.Is it genuinely Kashmiri? No idea. But if there's better saffron in Kashmir, I don't need it. I can't imagine better (I've tried the best India, Persian, Spanish, and even Portuguese saffron in my 35 year food-writing career). It's expensive. But not for the quality. For what it is, it's cheap. And on Amazon, of all places! I'm totally shocked, and grateful to whoever this guy is for delivering the goods.
