One of the best.
I am a wife and mother, who like many women I know, tries to do too much. I often feel overwhelmed. I also read books, listen to podcasts, etc. trying to find ways to feel less overwhelmed or do what I'm doing more efficiently. Rarely do I find books, podcasts, etc that help very much. This book is the complete opposite of that. This book was an eye opener for me as it discussed our different personality types and why we get overwhelmed in different ways. It didn't stop there though. It then gives specific, practical ways to change and combat being overwhelmed. It never made me feel guilty or ashamed, just encouraged that I don't have to stay this way. I highly recommend this book to any woman who is struggling with feeling like she can't get it all done or has way to much to possibly do. It will enlighten, encourage and support you in your journey to becoming your best you. It will be one that stays highlighted and kept close for reminders and ideas.

Overwhelmingly good
As a mom of 4, I am constantly living in a life of overwhelm. I feel like I never have time to breathe, rest and just sit still to collect my thoughts and just be. I jumped at the chance to be on the book launch team for this book based on the title alone and received an advanced reader copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. The perfect book for a busy mom like me. I love how Kathi and Cheri each share personal stories and their personal steps in getting out from overwhelmed. I found it quite interesting how our personality types determine what overwhelms us and how each of us should proceed. Cheri's perspective on HSP's and being a giver who never practices self care to refill her own cup describes me. I give so freely to others, but never think to take the time to focus on myself so that my passion for helping others doesn't drain me of all my energy. Kathi's insistence of honoring the Sabbath was eye opening for me as I always go non-stop and use Sundays to catch up on everything I didn't get done during the week and to prepare for the new week. I need to force rest into my schedule and to have a day to devote to recharging and taking a break from my never-ending "to do" list. I am so thankful for this book, the wonderful authors who are like close friends walking along side each reader as we try to sort through our lives and what overwhelms us. I ended up gifting copies of the book to a number of close friends so we can discuss what we've learned and to encourage each other in moving forward with applying what the authors suggest to our personal lives to create a life of peace, joy and no more overwhelm. This book is for anyone and everyone who feels weighed down and living life in the fast lane which is the norm these days. Excited to dig deeper with my girlfriends in the coming weeks.

Completely shifted my perspective
I've read books on how to organize your life and be more productive, but as a free-spirited author myself, I've always been resistant to making positive changes by adopting a schedule. And yet, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed, like I had a tenuous grasp on the thread of productivity, but it kept slipping through my fingers. In Overwhelmed, Cheri and Kathi brought me to the next level to address the reasons "why" I'd continued to stay stuck. For me, it all comes down to a trust issue with God. Rather than another book on schedules or organization tips, here you will find solid Biblical help to shift your perspective. God doesn't mean for us to live Overwhelmed. He means for us to live in balance, so that we can be open to living life where they only thing that overwhelms us is His amazing grace.

I can let go of overwhelmed without being more overwhelmed.
I started reading this book at a time in my life when I've not felt much more overwhelmed. And here, in this book, I took in the truth that I don't have to wait until I have everything all perfectly figured out to stop being overwhelmed. I also don't have to wait until I have time to sit down and really figure it all out at once. The authors have given me steps to take- doable steps and they've shown me how to make those steps work with my personality. Very well written. The authors most certainly complimented one another.

This is a book that will give you a treasury of tools to equip you with life-giving courage!!!
The thing I loved most about this book, was Kathi and Cheri’s authentic stories about their struggles. I certainly gained such insight about Highly Sensitive Persons. Their book empowered me to understand myself and heal a wound I have been carrying for 68 years. I am learning to see my strengths . . . My spiritual gift is Encouragement. I identified myself as the Cheerleader in the Safety Sorter Evaluation. It gave me such hope, when I read through the various statements on the chart!! I love charts. They help de clutter my mind. I purchased/ordered the book on April 6, 2017. It sat on my shelf until recently, when I picked it up, after watching a video on Facebook of Cheri and Michelle Cushatt discussing the Safety Sorter. Oh my gosh!!! It is such a wonderful and powerful tool in helping me see myself in a more positive way. I also have been where both Kathi and Cheri have been. It has really been an amazing gift to my wounded and overwhelmed heart. I’m a slow processor and understanding is something I truly treasure and have realized, that when I’m stuck, I can’t move forward. This book has been extremely instrumental in helping me identify some powerful ways to help me move forward!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has struggled with moving on in their life, because of past hurts and lack of feeling misunderstood. Growing up in my family was an unsafe environment. And once I learned about the HSP info, I felt totally validated and truly understood, and I’m still learning to give myself permission to forgive myself and others and give grace and nurture myself! Kathi and Cheri, thank you both for your transparency and loving courage! May God richly bless you in your journey and ministry in bringing help and hope to those in the body of Christ who need encouragement to help them move forward in their journey!!
