This arrived with no instructions. i plugged it into the color-coded jack. nothing is happening. i tried recording with audacity and "voice recorder"?

Does this mic work well with a laptop? I need a mic for confrence trainning, but need to use the laptop for visual information,

Will this mic do a good job recording from a distance order you need to have it clipped on to you for it to work? Can I stand a few feet away from it?

The mic works with phone calls but not with my camera app. if the mic is plugged in i get no sound on the video. all volumes are up. what should i do?
