Mountain Warehouse Isla II Womens Down Jacket - Winter Puffer Coat

I have order three different womens down winter coats this season from Amazon (Eddie Bauer, LL Bean, and Columbia). None of these top brands fit. The coats were many things; including super huge, way too tight even though I sized up, weirdly shaped, had tight sleeves, or defective toggles that wouldn't hold the adjustments I made to the adjustable hood.I was so disenchanted with online shopping, I was honestly not expecting my Hail Mary order to be a success. But I really needed a coat. II needed it to be warm, too, because it can get very cold in Michigan.I had never heard of Mountain Hardwear before. I took a chance and ordered the "Isla II.Down Parka , size 16 in black." I am 5'4" and 165lbs. I had one reservation. The product description didn't mention anything about the hood being adjustable, and I got no answers from customer reviews.The coat was all I hoped for and more!I was surprised, and pleased, the Mountain Hardwear Isla II wasn't super puffed up like a headless Michelin man.. It was... what I would call lightweight for a down parka. I was skeptical about it keeping me warm, until I discovered it...it looked really good on! It fit my curves but didn't feel snug or restricting at all. The Isla II is not supposed to be a long coat, but because I'm not very tall, I liked that it looked a littler longer on me. The sleeves were just the right length with cuffs inside to keep snow and rain out, and the coat had a storm flap that covered the zipper in front.I was impressed by the large pockets that also had zippers. I wouldn't have to worry about losing my keys or my phone. And the hood, though not adjustable, was just the right size. It was easy to position over my head, it fit properly, and it wasn't too large. I don't expect it to get blown back by the wind.I haven't tested the Isla II outside yet. I will have to wait until later in the winter to let you all know how it performed. it is temperature rated to -31F. Being a cold anyplace-anywhere-anytime person, I am pretty sure I will be covered.

Love this jacket! Purchased without trying it on and it exceeded my expectations! Perfect length and look, comfortable and keeps me very warm in extreme cold temps! Would recommend and purchase again!

I like that this coat has elastic sleeve cuffs, a removable fur-edged hood and an extra snap layer over the zipper. I got the green and it's a nice deep color of emerald. The only problem might be that it seems to run a little large. My bust is pretty big so I ordered a 10 but if you asked me to guesstimate, it feels more like a 12-14. But it is really warm, and not bulky as a result. I live in Baltimore and the last few days have been cold and super windy - this coat works like a champ! Does a good job holding my heat in.

I had tried this coat on in store in the UK but they didn’t have my size in the beige, more or a winter white colour. So I ordered from the US Amazon. Fit as expected and doesn’t make me look to dumpy! Really warm, brought for a trip to Norway but wearing it now. The hood is big as others have mentioned but I normally wear a hat but will see if it can be adjusted in some way.

I almost sent this back as it was roomy but when Winter came, I was glad to have "layering room". Great color, love the furry hood, which matches my furry top boots, by the way. Strong zipper or snap closure are excellent features, too.

This jacket was wonderful! I am typically a size 6 (5'10 and 130 lbs) but ordered a size 10 based on some of the other reviews noting that it ran small and the fact that I'm so tall with longer arms. This jacket was perfect! The body fit comfortably snug and the arms were a perfect fit while the hood was perfectly oversized to add extra protection from the cold. I would highly suggest to anyone looking for a nice warm coat who is on the taller side

Fit is OK, but can't really layer. The zipper lining gets caught on the zipper a lot. But its warm and definitely keeps the cold away from your neck.

Pros: durable material, nice wrist cuffs, zippered pockets, good-sized inside chest pocket, double-zipper (metal, not plastic).Cons: no thumbhole in cuffs, inside chest pocket opens on the side but has no velcro/zipper to secure items, fur on hood is just okay...a little sparse for my liking and no drawstring/closure on hood, sleeves are a bit long with respect to the size and rest of the jacket.Caution - Check the sizing chart before buying. Like with most things at Mountain Warehouse, this runs a bit large. I typically wear a size 10 - I'm 5'2", 140 lbs and a bit thick in the middle. I purchased a size 8 and am happy. It's not too snug - room for a thin sweater underneath and I can move my arms with no restriction. It goes to about 5 inches above my knees. It's -27 celsius and I've tested it outside for about 20 minutes - stayed nice and warm with not a lot of movement.I purchased this is what they call light beige but it's actually more of a very light silver/grey colour.

I bought this coat for its beautiful beige colour. Since I bought it, I have not worn any of my other winter coats anymore. It feels so comfortable and warm, and it looks very stylish as well. I have received many compliments. I bought it in the same size as my usual clothes size, but I can still wear a winter jumper underneath without it feeling too tight.A highly recommended coat!

Great fit and cozy warm. Nice cuffs on the sleeves. Zippers on the outside pockets. One inside pocket. Zips up from the bottom as well if required. And the hood zips off.Love it !!! 5’5” 140lbs size 10 is perfect

Love this jacket - it kept me warm in -9C, but it was lightweight enough for me to use on a hike in 6C (BC Canada). A lot of comments mention how the hood doesn't stay on -- I feel like it must be meant to be worn with a toque or a hood underneath, because then it stays up fine. Sleeves were long enough for me to pull my hands inside, so that I didn't always need gloves. The only thing I would change is that I wish the inner pocket had a zipper or at least a button to keep it closed. If you're running around/playing in the snow, you want to be confident nothing will fall out of the pocket. Outer pockets are deep and zippered which is great.
