Works Great! Does Exactly What It's Supposed To Do!
This remote is great. Installation was a breeze. All I did was plug in the USB receiver on the back of my PC and Windows automatically detected it. I was able to use the remote instantly. This is the perfect remote to control your PC and Media Center with. I like to sit back and watch DVDs and listen to music from a distance and this remote definitely assists me with that. All of the expected functionality is there: volume, Media Center button, menu, playback buttons, etc. I have absolutely no complaints. The RF receiver is fantastic. No need to point at any receiver; just use the remote to your desire. Another great thing about this remote it that it is pretty light and rather compact as compared to most other Media Center remotes. It requires two AAA batteries, which are included. Highly recommended!

Horrible! Won't work 10 ft away!
The remote will not work unless I get within 5 ft of my entertainment center. I changed the batteries, that didn't help. I opened a brand new package of batteries I bought last week and installed them, and that didn't help.Figuring it could be the receiver was behind a glass door in my entertainment center, I used a USB extension cable to run it outside of the cabinet, which you can see in the photo. It still won't work unless I get up and walk within 5 ft of the receiver. This is ridiculous!.Unless your media PC is within 3 ft of you, don't buy this!

works well for a while, excessively complex and touchy
I'm replacing the same product, which I purchased about a year ago. My first product worked well for many months, then started flaking out requiring reset, and then finally couldn't be made to connect at all. I looked for an alternative RF remote with a decent range, but to no avail, so purchased the same product again. Even though my first unit failed too soon, it's worth the modest cost because it works, plug and play, to operate my Vista laptop media player from 60 feet without a need for line-of-sight pointing. For me, the Keyspan has other drawbacks: way too many buttons, and it is easy to bump a button and unexpectedly get some unintended function, especially mute. These problems are annoying when you're trying to teach a dance class, but won't be a problem for very many people. And who knows, maybe the failure of my first Keyspan was just a statistical anomaly.

Nice product, reasonable price, works great in Windows 7/8/8.1
I've used other MCE remotes, and this one has a better key layout with somewhat larger buttons than some others--compare to Rosewill's similarly priced RHRC-11001, for example. If you're using for Windows Media Center on a PC (what it was designed for), installation is dead-simple: just plug it in and you're done. The RF is convenient, as you don't have to point the remote directly at your PC, but be aware that if you install the USB receiver in a rear port on your case that range will likely be somewhat limited due to the metal of the case interfering with the signal. I purchased a USB extender (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QES0MKA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0) and mounted the receiver inside my case near the front in an empty 5.25" drive bay and it works just fine there. Check around Amazon's marketplace for different buyers: there seems to be quite a wide range of prices between new/used/refurbished and various sellers as well... could save you some money.

Not as good as it is advertized
This product is very easy to install, and it works just like an IR remote. However the range is not as strong as it is advertised. I had my htpc in my office room which is less than 30feet away from my remote and it was disappointing to see that it did not work.I had my doubts to post this until I bought another product that just did that with no problem. The issue with this product could be the fact that its receiver (usb powered antenna) is too week, but I could be wrong.

works great
This is the 2nd one of these that I bought. It works with Windows 7 even though the description only covers Vista. I use it with Windows Media Center. Since it is RF, line of sight is not needed. For me, it even works through a single wall, so the PC does not need to be in the same room as the TV. Installation is simple -- just plug in the USB receiver to the PC - no software to install.

not bad, does what it's supposed to on Win7 also
Does just what it's supposed to. It DOES work on Win7 although it is marketed for Vistavistavista. However... I did find that the receiver (wish it was bluetooth but it's not) NEEDs to be plugged directly into the PC, unlike the other IR remote I used that worked in a USB hub. For some reason the USB receiver kept disconnecting itself and reconnecting. So use it near the PC and it should be fine.
