Excellent for All Crafty People
I like the black glass version because I craft jewelry and the dark background really makes the materials I work with stand out. The addition of the drawers (I placed mine on the right side), is excellent because I can keep the tools and items I use frequently within arm's reach. I sometimes use the drawer to catch any chainmail rings or beads that happen to fall as I work (I pull it out half ways). I tilt the top up (you have several choices of 'tilt' (degrees I guess to be more accurate)) when I need to sketch a design on paper. Moreover, it is modern looking and very professional. The only negative I have concerns the instruction/assembly manual. There are things they don't mention that you should know, like proper placement of the pieces as you install this desk. The pictures only help a little. Several times, I had to backtrack and start over. I even had to stop and think how to properly place the piece I was installing so as to get the holes to line up for the screws in the following step. So, before you tighten any screws, it is best to look at the next step and make sure that those pieces will install correctly. Moreover, not all the hardware was labeled properly. For example, the instructions said to use screw 32 but in the blister package there are three different screws labeled 32! You just have to try each one to see which one fits correctly. You don't need additional hardware, but I found using my own set of flat and phillips screwdrivers, and small adjustable wrench, was far better than using the tools provided (again, not labeled correctly). As much as I wanted to, I do not recommend using a cordless drill with screw driver and hex attachments as I fear you may inadvertently overtighten the screws, and mar the heads of the screws as well. Overall though, I am very satisfied with the finished product and am glad I purchased it. Plus, I purchased the Studio Designs LED swing arm lamp, in black to match, that fits securely and provides adequate lighting (the colors show nicely). It does cost a little more than others on Amazon, but rest assured, you will have no problems/complaints with using it.

Terrible Terrible instructions and Missing parts
UPDATE TO PURCHASE.After writing my initial review, I contacted the company and informed them of the deficiencies. I will say they did make good expediting replacement parts to me at no charge. After the hassles of battling with the instructions - I have a very nice looking drafting table. I am content with the product and because of the excellent customer service I received I would like to upgrade them to a 3.5 stars. If they redo their instruction manual and ensure that all pieces are within the shipped out orders then I would have given it 5 Stars. Hopefully they will address these and then it would be something I could suggest to everyone. Maybe I was the 1% that slipped through the cracks - but all in all after everything was put in place I am glad I got this item. Looks nice very light - so I can move around if I need to.=================================================================================First off, Im an electrical technology major and a woodworker.I can wire a house, and use every power tool on the market, from your jackhammers to your lathes - so its fairly easy to state I am mechanically inclined. I have also taken blueprint reading and built many cabinets but I found these instructions harder than trying to solve a rubics cube. The orientation of the parts within the diagrams in the instructions is what makes everything so overly complicated. What should have taken me 30-45 minutes ended up taking me almost 3 hours simply because I repeatedly had to remove and reorient the pieces because the instructions lacked the details required to puzzle together this drafting board.PLUS I was not sent all of the parts which meant I could not complete the job. When I called the company, they had a parts department and offered to send them to me at no charge. But it would take them a while to get to me. After pressing the fact that I could reorder a new item from Amazon using my 2 day free shipping, the parts rep said he would priority mail them to me 4 days time.If this IQ brain teaser wasnt so difficult to assemble it would be in the mail right now and I would have ordered another drafting desk but not from this company because I wouldnt know if I was going to get a completely stocked shipment.I had 3 parts missing - screws bolts (2) attaching bars. So the thing is about 90% assembled2 of the rear bars had medium sized dents in them, but since they were on the rear AND because I had already vested so much time assembling the thing, I decided I will over look those blemishes. Still something that took way too much time to assemble and could have been - should have been assembled in a fraction of the time had someone thought it wise to create easy to follow instructions. I have to ask did they get the technical writer off craigslist or is logic not within his mental capacity?Either way I would not recommend this to someone whos not mechanically inclined based on the instructions included in the package. However to be fair the desk does look nice and seems sturdy - with exception to the flimsy plastic containers. So if you enjoy solving the rubic's cube on your own, this is the desk for you.If not, pass and get something easier to put together.Im still debating if I want to keep it because of the (2) blemishes, or not.

Nice desk, but there was some shipping damage
Ok, so first things first...I would have given this desk 5 stars if it wasn't damaged in the shipping. The box arrived with a 4" hole in the front so I was expecting a broken glass panel. I took a photo of the box leaning against the front door where UPS left it. I opened it up again expecting the entire glass top to be shattered. So I was thrilled when I quickly glanced at the metal framing and glass parts and all was intact thanks to the foam. I figured it was cosmetic superficial damage...yeah, not so fast...Then I started to build it. Instructions are minimal and weak. It took longer than it should have only because the pictures were so small that I couldn't quite make out how the screws were connecting. I'm technically-inclined tho and it was a minor annoyance. To someone else I could see where they might give up and send this back. They should improve this area. The last part of the build is installing the drawers/bins...which are plastic. I thought mine where ok until I unwrapped the plastic around each of them and found one black top piece and one drawer crushed into a bunch of small bits. Luckily, I had not started installing all the hardware onto the desk that holds the drawer bins or I would have been upset at having to take that apart given this was now useless. No big deal I thought. I'll follow the little guide sheet that was included with the instructions on contacting the company direct, send them my photos and just wait for a replacement. I'm patient.I'm not THAT patient tho. Sent my email that very evening and have never heard back from the manufacturer which is fairly local to my residence. In all fairness I did not contact Amazon because I've only had to do that once before and it was a pain to find the Amazon CS link to get help...which is just weird. It should be next to the order imho, just in case you do have problems. So, I am taking off a star for crushed drawers and a star for the manufacturer's failure to even respond to an email to replace the two pieces. I am too busy during the weekday to sit on the phone trying to explain that I need a $3-10 replacement sent out. I'll live without it I guess.
