The Long, and Long-Awaited, Tibetan Epic
Finally, for the first time, we have a translation of this world's longest epic, or at least the opening sections of it. And it's really a beautiful book, too, in a nice oversized boxed edition. This work is still being performed orally by travelling artists in Asia. Longer even than the Mahabharata, it has been even longer inaccessible to Western readers. I've been hungering for something like this book for a few years now, and Shambhala has outdone themselves with this one. Excellent notes and glossary make this one a wonderful package altogether. A must for any fan of the world's great epics.

a story for those interested in Tibetan culture, Buddhism and/or those who enjoy a classic, epic tale.
Thrilled to have this copy in paperback at a resonable.price. Very well foot-noted and an enjoyable read so far. I plan to read as far through the story as is available in english. Grateful to have found this.

Well annotated and fairly easy to follow
Fascinating tale. Well annotated and fairly easy to follow. I have a casual interest in Buddhism but I enjoyed this book. Now I want to read it again.
