Fast access to less struggle
Welcome you Awesome Humans to a land of less suffering :-)I was so lucky that a dear friend let me know about the Awesome Human Project. She knew how I was suffering and thought it would help. I'll be forever grateful to her! I started attending Nataly's free seminars a month or so before her book release, so by then I had already benefitted so much from her seminars (learning about our brain's negativity bias), that I was on the pre-order list for the book release. I'm so glad Nataly felt the need to share what she'd learned during her recovery from burnout. I have already learned a tool to get out of the 'valley of struggle' and her many guest speakers, along with the tools that Nataly has created, have already been life changing for me - discovering 'what light's me up.' I am now working toward a future that excites me.If you have read this far, I want to let you know that I'm in week 4 of her 'master class' (another free offering Nataly was gracious enough to share with her seminar participants, podcast listeners, etc.) and was grateful to benefit from this week's Intentional Kindness technique. I had a better, more connected week! Here's what I wrote in an email to Nataly today, and what prompted me to write this review,"This week I tried in many ways to pay attention to those little (and few) opportunities for connection, to say big a Thank You with eye contact, smile and natter if appropriate. I also held myself back when I spotted moments where my input or reaction would have a negative impact on the other. I stopped, looked at the facts (mini valley of suffering), and was able to rejig it to take ownership of my part, and turn it into a supportive ‘reaction.’Once again, many thanks for sharing the Awesome Human Project with the world."Readers, I was happy to see that Nataly is willing to share her vibrant artwork with us and have attached this week’s gift... in case it helps improve your week, which is my I wish for you.Diana

I will continue to revisit this book as a guide to build my mental and emotional fitness.
I have been excited for this book launch ever since I heard that Nataly was planning to write it. Just like her book Happier Now, she has delivered a perfect blend of research, deeply personal experiences, and daily practices. I love how the practices are easy to implement into your daily routine by following the weekly focus on each emotional fitness skill. The celebrations throughout the Awesome Human Project kept me motivated, engaged, and wanting more. After all of the mental and emotional stress that I was feeling from the pandemic, I felt that this book gave me hope! I had room to breathe. I don’t have to be perfect, and the tips on being more compassionate with myself will help to guide me into the future. I’m excited to dig deeper into my personal awesome human project, and I’m confident that I will have more energy to give to the important people in my life. Thank you for providing a way to make my mental and emotional fitness a bigger priority!

Buy it. Read it. Practice it. Be Happier, struggle less and thrive more - REALLY
I love this book! It has great introductory / basic - science backed - information to provide foundation. Then a wonderful 5-week topical plan to work through and establish simple but effective practices into your daily life. The "Note to Self" highlights sprinkled throughout are very helpful. Another wonderful highlight for me was the SOS quick helps for when you are stuck. The topically oriented areas provide super guidance for when you are overwhelmed or stuck in negative thoughts or can't relax or.... I've been through it once to get acquainted. My NEXT pass will be to work through, highlight, note and PRACTICE what I am reading. Buy it! Be well, Andy

A great way to prioritize and practice your emotional fitness
I was lucky enough to read an advanced (electronic) copy of this book from Nataly Kogan and I am super psyched to read it again in hard copy so that I can mark it up with post-it’s and stickies!I first learned of Nataly when she delivered a keynote at a conference I attended in 2021. I don’t always find these keynotes relevant or interesting, but I was on the edge of my seat for Nataly’s session. I managed to connect with her and join in on her weekly webinar, “The Awesome Human Hour”. Joining that webinar is how I continued learning about emotional fitness from Nataly (and her guests), and also how I was able to read the advanced copy of this book. Now…onto the book!Nataly takes her readers through a very engaging discussion about how our brain works (often working against us, but with good intentions) and how we can leverage 5 emotional fitness skills (thru life-long practice) to struggle less and avoid the daily burnout many of us experience in our lives. She shares a lot of first hand experiences from her professional and personal life - including her own battles with burnout. One of the biggest things I have embraced from Nataly’s book is that “you can’t give what you don’t have” and “you can’t fill a leaky reservoir”. The first quote, to me, means that you can’t be an effective leader at work (or role model to your family) and set others up for success and emotional fitness unless you have your own emotional fitness intact. The second quote means, to me, that the need to eliminate things that drain your energy (physical, mental or emotional energy) is just as important as the need to recharge that energy bank. What I like most about Nataly’s book is that she focuses on teaching us the skills we need to acquire, develop and practice (and practice, and practice, etc.) in order to have a more supportive relationship with ourselves and to embrace our Awesome Human (as we are each an Awesome Human in our own way)!

Give yourself this gift, you deserve it.
Nataly Kogan really knows how to talk to people. She has proven this talent with huge audiences, in interviews, and her weekly Awesome Human Hour Podcasts, but with this book, she made me feel like she was talking directly to me, a Human. The Awesome Human Project helped me feel like I could be myself and that my humanness is OK and enough!Working through the Manifesto was an easy and exciting read the first time, but requires a deeper dive to really absorb and apply the practices to life. As a helping professional, I use several of these lessons with clients over the years, but not always successfully and certainly not successfully when applied to myself! * Talking to myself like I would a friend?? * No-guilt in saying “NO”?? * Self-Care is a priority, not a luxury??The way Nataly has taught these daily practices and others, and included the idea of “Notes to Self”, will assist in struggling less in life and becoming a more positive and Awesome Human! A project worth the endeavor!Thank you Nataly!
