EDIT: I was contacted by customer service a few weeks later and was given a refund. Glad they were able to make it right and maybe it was an unlucky batch.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Product was disappointing to say the least. Looks poorly made and doesn’t even stand because the bottom is uneven. Not worth the money at all. Save the hassle. Can’t even return and emailed customer service and have received no reply. So $50+ down the drain. Do not recommend!!!

This Mate is of really good quality I am thinking that the people that wrote the reviews of it getting moldy did not know how to cure it. You need to cure the Mates for about 3-4 weeks before using it.

Nicely finished gourd. It was clean inside but I still cured it for 24 hours. The gourd only holds 2 ounces (60ml) so keep a thermos of hot water nearby. All in all though I am happy with it.

The media could not be loaded.  I got many compliments because of the design. I absolutely love drinking maté the traditional way, it makes me feel good, energetic, focus, and special.

I ordered what was described as a calabash gourd, and initially, I believed this is what I had received. However, the accompanying manual only provided instructions for curing a wood gourd, with no mention of a calabash gourd. When I reached out to clarify, I received no satisfactory resolution or explanation. Instead, I was sent a PDF version of the same manual for a wood gourd that I already had, along with a message (which I paraphrase): “Here’s the manual on how to cure a calabash gourd.”Upon further investigation (in the advert’s full description section - which, yes, I should have read thoroughly prior to purchase), I discovered that the gourd I received is indeed made of wood, contrary to the calabash description in the heading of the advertisement. This company seems unaware of what they are selling. While their initial response was relatively prompt, their subsequent responses were slow, incompetent, incorrect, and inadequate.Although I should have read the full description and not only the heading, there is nevertheless a conflict between describing the gourd as both “calabash” in the heading and “wood” in the full description.Despite this, I have decided to keep the item, as it is a very nice product. However, I have not been impressed with their customer service since I have not heard back from them again (am I being ignored now?). I had initially started a return on the item, but I am satisfied with its quality and appearance. I would still purchase from this company in the future, as their products do seem to be attractive and of good quality. They should, however, correct their error in this advert and be careful of their description of similar items in the future.In short, the main heading description advertises a calabash gourd, but what they are actually selling is a wooden gourd. They clearly have no idea about their own products.

Je l'ai achetée il y a 1 an pour mon mari (cadeau) : elle n'a pas bougé, pourtant il l'utilise tous les jours !!Elle est très mignonne, je n'ai aucun regret concernant cet achat même si je l'ai trouvée un peu chère.Par contre, le 'goût' soit disant 'chocolaté' ... un peu bidon ;) Même si ça avait été le cas, ça serait parti après quelques lavages.

Le 4 stelle invece di 5 sono per il prezzo, secondo me troppo alto. Per il resto il mate è perfetto e funziona molto bene.

A bit more expensive than others but the material has really good quality.Seller is shipping quickly and package has own bag. I loved the quality of wood and handmade metallic part.They also send document about how to prepare your first mate. Strongly recommended.
