The Best
Best ceramic knives I've ever used, and a good value in this set.

best I've owned
Razor sharp, light, and nicely balanced but ....... why don't they come with a protective sleeve or scabbard? While being incredibly sharp they, like all ceramic knives, are pretty brittle and the blade will chip easily. The instructions say " ..... store them in your wood block .... " but what if I don't have an old wood block from an old knife set? Protective sleeves really should be included.

Great knives, you'll love 'em.
I already have good steel knives, but I recently picked up on credible reviews and Internet chatter that raved about Japanese cutlery. Thought I would give them a try and bought a set of four. Being ceramic, I've heard that they are fragile. I bought the round container to keep them away from my other knives. I handle them gingerly. That being said, these are simply wonderful knives. I first used them to make a beef stew. I've never had such an easy time cutting up a chuck roast. Slicing veggies was actually enjoyable. I've always had to sharpen my other knives before mincing garlic cloves. Mincing is a breeze when you can first slice a clove into paper thin slices, a few light chops and you're done. Best knives I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Perfect if treated with reasonable care
This is my second set of these knives. The first set lasted a decade and simply wore out. These knives are superb. They are scary sharp. They are durable and very hard. They are ceramic and are brittle if abused, If you are incapable of treating the edge with care, as the negative reviews clearly show for some, they will chip. You cannot just toss them in the sink. You cannot twist the blade or chop. Common care is what is needed. They require abuse to chip. A similar ceramic product is Corning Corelle Ware.If you cannot treat them care, then pass on these. To be honest, if you chip these knives you are also abusing your steel knives.

Terrible Quality
This is my first ever 1 star review. I don't like commenting negatively about things because I always worry I may not have used them correctly or something. With these knives I have only owned them for about 7 months (purchased in May). I cook very regularly and 3 of the 5 I ordered have broken. I tried to do things correctly and hand washed them for the majority of their short life and didn't cut things that were extremely hard or had hard parts. One of them lost a piece in the 1st 3 months, the second chunk came off around December from the 2nd knife. This last chunk went missing from the middle of the 3rd knife today. I contacted the company and they said they would replace them only if I paid shipping and if when they received them they determined it was material malfunction. I will not be paying the shipping to send these 3 knives back or purchasing from this company in the future. I hope this is helpful when making your purchase.

Incredibly sharp. Incredibly lightweight. Incredibly brittle.
The four piece-knife set appears to offer everything an amateur cook desires: below $100; lightweight; and easy to clean. These knives are stealthily sharp. I’m not sure if it’s the lightness or the carefreeness of the user, but the knife slips through food with incredible easy. The knife cut through the surface of my skin when I accidentally grazed it; fortunately, no major injury incurred. Takeaway: use with care and avoid use on slippery surfaces.Unfortunately, the lightness of the knives comes at the cost of durability. After prepping vegetables for a stir fry, the 5.5” santoku was chipped at the tip and created a jagged edge, rendering the knife useless for food preparation.I’m not sure I got what I paid for as I owned the set for less than a year, and the most flexible knife is useless. Kyocera, I appreciate the intent, but please improve the durability so the set can last for years instead of month(s).

Love These Sharp Knives
These are very much like another brand I have owned for about 8 years. Very sharp and good looking! I have to assume they will wear the same as my previous brand, which I NEVER had to sharpen. I bought a new set since after all the years, I had two of them get chipped due to mishandling on my part. These seem to be the same good quality. I feel confident they'll hold up just as well, just treat them with care. Dishwasher safe. Highly recommend.

excelente filo

Fantastic Knives for the Price
This is my second set of Kyocera's and both my husband and I love them.First set was with white blades, this tends to get a bit stainy unless scrubbed thoroughly or dishwashed. The two surviving knives from the first set after over two years have developed very tiny chips on the blade that do NOT affect performance. Two knives I broke by trying to get through things I was not supposed to be using these knives for - my fault (some meat with a bone and brick hard loaf or rye bread).Overall this is perfect for cutting fruit and vetabled + anything that does not require carving, just simple straight cut.
