Evict birds and bugs from nesting in your RV hot water heater! For the first time ever we had a bird make a nest in our water heater this year. The water heater was brand new (thanks to a little problem winterizing - gotta believe that is going on the checklist next year) and on a pre-trip check we found sticks filling up the vent. Cleaned it out and two weeks later the little Momma was back. This simple piece of mesh was easy to install, strong, affordable and the perfect fit for our Dometic water heater. We don't have to share our camper with anyone (or anything) again.

Screen fit perfectly in my dometic heater and was easy to install. However, I had to remove it as it seemed to prevent my water heater from staying lit. Not sure if it restricted the exhaust flow too much or what. But, once I removed it operation went back to normal.

Works and fits well. Quality seems pretty good. Only complaint is it is kind of a pain to install.

Been using these for years. Little springs for me are hard to hook up. Aging shakes. They do the job keeping flying bugs out. Recommend

Worked great on a Accolade 37k with a 10 gallon Dometic water heater. Was easy to install.

Anxiously waited for Camco to release this item, as there are no insect screens made specifically for this Dometic water heater (mdl WH-6GEA). Easy to install and fit perfect! During a trip in November, the water heater would not stay lit. Once I returned home and started troubleshooting the issue, I discovered the water heater stayed lit with a bright blue flame as long as the heater cover/door was open. Shortly after, I dropped off the trailer at the dealership for an unrelated issue and the tech found the same issue and said the mesh is too tight, restricting intake airflow. Removed the screen and the water heater works perfect. At this time, there are only 39 Amazon reviews on this item. Many buyers are very happy with their purchase, however one review dated September 19, 2022, had the exact same issue. Camco makes great products, but this one may need some fine tuning. I plan on reaching out to Camco. I'll update this review when/if they respond.

Discovered a persistent bird trying to build a nest in our water heater. Thought about trying to rig up my own screen but this one fits perfectly and looks like factory install. Thick stainless steel screen should survive the elements.
