Works great within its limits.
I had one of these years ago that I used for stripping paint. This one works just as well with one caveat; it cannot be used with old, heavy layers of old paint. Too be fair the paint I was removing had its first layer in 1946 with probably 8-10 subsequent layers. It works great for stripping rust and one or two layers of paint so I have no qualms recommending it for those purposes.

THis product was a waste of my time and money
I bought the RotoStrip to help strip a layer of latex paint from my basement walls to help prep for waterproofing my walls. Just one layer of paint. THis product was a waste of my time and money. Very poor results. Instructions say to let the tins lightly scrape the surface or the the tines will bend or break. Hey guys, I wish I could get my money back on this one. Don't waste your time buying this thing.

OMG the paint and rust flies off!
OMG the paint flies off. I'd be careful on wood, I am using it on a steel tractor that I am painting and it works great. Albeit, it will have a limited life as the tines do wear down. But, can't be beat for getting a lot of work done fast.

Aggressive paint stripper
I bought this device specifically to rough up some wood and it works well for that purpose as long as the wood is soft. So I would agree with the instructions for this that it should not be used to strip paint from soft wood. It WILL damage soft wood. You definitely want to wear protective eyewear because it has pieces flying everywhere. Quite honestly you should probably be wearing coveralls because otherwise you'll have bits of whatever it's stripping off going inside your clothes everywhere there is an opening.

Metal Rods Break Off Quickly
It worked really good removing old paint from wood, but then after I used it a few times for about 30 minutes total the metal rods started breaking off. That's just on wood so I really don't know about what it would do with metal.

Quality Product with multiple uses
Had one of these form 20+ years ago and finally wore it out. I use it to strip loose bark from logs before running thru sawmill and it works great for that as well as a variety of other things. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

A workhorse.
This thing eats paint off metal surfaces! I find what works best for me is having a cheap electric hand drill exclusively for this; even better if it has dual direction settings so you could sharpen the prongs by going reverse. Would purchase again!
