New Castaldo ® QuickSil Soft is a more flexible two-part room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber putty that is easily mixed by hand. Only slight pressure is needed to form the mold and drive out air pockets. No special tools or machines are needed --bench vises, C-clamps, book presses and unheated vulcanizers can all be used with good results. Castaldo ® QuickSil Soft is ideal of difficult, complex models and molds requiring undercuts and deep draws. Fast, simple, easy -- no need to measure precisely - just mix approximately equal parts A and B together by hand. Molds cure ready-to-use with 0% rubber shrinkage in only 15 minutes at room temperature. QuickSil molds are easy to cut and require no lubrication powder or release sprays, as the rubber is self-lubricating. QuickSil is ideal for short runs or last-minute emergencies typical in any jewelry business. It's also ideal for use with metal clay, either to make a mold of an existing object and then reproduce it or to mold an original creation for further production. Because of its heat-resistance up to 650° F / 350° C, low temperature metals such as pewter and lead can be poured directly into QuickSil rubber molds.
