I absolutely LOVE this book so far
As someone who has spent over 20 years dieting and hating my body, I absolutely LOVE this book so far! I haven't finished it, but I have read the original book twice already and I feel that this is a great supplement. It provides a common sense approach. There's more to it than simply telling myself that I can eat what I want, but instead I am being trained to listen to my body's cues and to provide self care. I really like the idea of looking into what causes me to overeat or eat compulsively and learning how to heal my broken relationship with food and my body. I also like the idea that I can set aside linear thinking, which is typically encouraged by dieting. I'm not expected to start and end at a certain place, but instead I feel empowered to revisit various aspects of the process as needed, with the end result being the ability to appropriately nourish myself without guilt. I am also learning to be patient with the process, as I have gained and lost the same 15-20 lbs for the last 20 years and I have had to put weight loss on the back burner. I haven't been on a scale in over a month, and I was getting on the scale every day for months! Since starting this workbook, I have felt in=credible freedom, since I haven't really been all that worried about my weight. I have already recommended this workbook to someone at my church and I am hoping to be able to share it with other people as time goes on.

Great workbook!
Great workbook. I read some of it in group in eating disorder treatment and bought it so that I could finish it on my own!

Game-changer
My nutritionist suggested this workbook to me and I was skeptical, mainly because I was focused on losing weight rather than examining my relationship with food. Looking back, I realize I wanted to be told which foods were “good” and which were “bad” to eat, and then be done! Making genuine progress with my weight loss goal only came about after I read this book. By the middle of chapter one, I was reconsidering how I’d been approaching food, from diets to overindulgence in sweets. I found the workbook’s exercises gave me insights into my actions, and it actually was a big relief to put down on paper all the food judgements and worries I’d been carrying around inside of me. My biggest takeaway from this book is that now I’m working on nourishing my body. Surprisingly, I can enjoy food without guilt, and also recognize when I’m about to stress-eat or use a cookie as a “reward” for something else. I’m grateful this workbook was designed, and I think it could help individuals with a variety of food issues.

Body/Mind, Working Together
Encouraging principles and doable strategies for a healthy relationship with food. Thank you. We don’t do enough positive self/talk, which is shown here in the book, because we don’t realize the strong effects it has on healing.

Great workbook
I’ve struggled with an eating disorder for some time and have always seemed to have an unhealthy relationship with food. I’ve done diets, restricted my eating, what to eat and what not to eat. I came across Intuitive Eating and then found this work book! This work book has been so unbelievably helpful and has really helped me get over my unhealthy relationship with food. I am still currently working in the workbook but I have noticed a very large change in my habits and my mood with food. As well as respecting my body and listening to it instead of shaming it and being negative towards it. I highly recommend this workbook as well as reading/listening to Intuitive Eating. Diets DO NOT work! Listen to your body. It’s smarter than you think!

Life changing
Wow this workbook is life changing, it made so much sense! I really enjoyed reading this book and doing the exercises, I’ve been trying really hard to put what I’ve learnt into action, it’s really improved my mental health, opened my eyes and improved my relationship with food. I can not recommend this book enough. I’ve completed now but know that I’ll keep coming back to it as I want to gage how much I’ve progressed and also remind myself of the lessons I’ve learnt and make sure that it’s embedded in me. I honestly feel that this book is life changing. If you buy the book, just make sure you put the effort and time in, do the exercises no matter how silly it awkward you feel, I think the exercises is what makes this book so powerful.

Great book to improve relationship with food
Fantastic workbook for anyone looking to improve their relationship with food. I’m using this a little bit at a time and find it to be a tremendous help in learning about hunger/fullness cues and undoing all the harm caused by diet culture.
