Does this require external power for operation?

Hi, thank you for reaching out INNOCN There're two connections, if your laptop have the full features USB C port, you could just use the USB C Signal/Video cable to connect, if you use the HDMI connection, please use the power supply. USB Signal, Power cable, Adapter and Mini HDMI cable are included in the package. Feel free to ask us for any questions, we're always here to help

Would i be able to use this as a main monitor with an m1 macbook air?

It is possible, but I would not recommend it. If to be used as a primary desktop monitor, there are far better monitors available at this price point. This monitors value comes from its light weight and portability. I use it as a second monitor for travel purposes.

How is input selection controlled ?

Input selection is automatic when it powers on (signal detection), but if you have two active signals, you can switch between USB-C and mini-HDMI using the on-screen menu. The power button acts as a menu key, and the volume buttons double as menu navigation buttons.

Can this be mounted magnetically?

Hi, thank you for reaching out No. We have the newest OLED monitor which coming with detachable magnetic stand, model: 15A1F Thank you very much
