Fantastic for both movies and music
This thing is fantastic. Very precise and great for both movies and music. Unlike their main competition (Buttkickers), these are very quiet.I've had a lot of experience with tactile transducers. I have a dozen Aura Shakers in various locations from my car seats to my office chair, to some arcade racers. But those are toys compared to The Q10B or even the Buttkickers. In my theater, I had 4 buttkicker LFE's running off a BKA1000 amp.The buttkickers are pretty aggressive. However, they can be somewhat noisy. You can actually hear them moving. It can be a little distracting depends what's happening. Also the buttkickers can bottom out pretty easily, and while this won't damage them, it makes a horrible sound when it happens. This puts an upper end on how loud you can have your buttkickers set. For example, on the opening intro to transformers 2, the buttkickers can easily be heard bottoming out if they're turned up loud. The Earthquake Q10b is very quiet. You don't hear it nearly as much, you only feel it. And I have not heard it bottom out at all. It's fast and precise for music and only adds to, doesn't add any distracting noises. I hooked mine directly to my sofa. You can bolt it to the floor or mount it to the metal L bracket that comes with it and mount that to your furniture. It definitely transfers vibration better mounted to your seat if that's an option. The earthquake is very controlled. Again, using music as an example, the kick of the bass drum feels very tight and precise with the earthquake hooked up. The buttkicker felt a bit looser or slower compared to this.At this point I have had the 4 buttkickers set up since 2009 in my theater. After trying just one of these, I am replacing them all with these. The only downside here is the cost. But if you want the best in performance they're worth it. The Buttkickers are a little bit more aggressive than these. But these are definitely more precise.Update: after having these for 4 months now, I'm still in love with them. They definitely moved the subwoofer into my seat. They integrate that well. The buttkicker bka1000 1000 watt amp is perfect for 1-4 of these things. Otherwise you'll need an amp that goes well below 20hz. My more powerful beringer ep4000 wasn't quite as effective with these.

Four Stars
Life is good. Exactly the thump I was looking for but the price is way too much.

High quality, lows only, does not bottom out
OMFG! Hooked to EP4000 bridge at 25%. Mounted directly under cushion on recliner. Never bottoms out and clatters your teeth😆. Does not play mids or highs, only lows.
