Q: how do you remove the weight?

I consulted with Yamaha and they informed me that the weight does NOT remove. Since every advertisement has stated that it does, was there an earlier version of this by Yamaha that did remove? Here's Yamaha's statement to me via email: The CS-BW counterweight is NOT removable, and is only compatible with stands that have the hinged boom tilt assist (like the CS-755, CS-865, CS-965, CH-750W and CH-755 boom arm attachments). (A) It's a mistake in the description. We've addressed it but the incorrect description/info is still out there. Just so you're aware, the counterweight is NOT removable.

Q: I see other stand models listed, but will this work with yamaha cs-665a?

The shaft diameter is the same, it fits in my cs-665a.
