Unlike most phono preamplifiers on the market, particularly in our price range, we don't skimp on the circuitry. We opted to use multiple gain stages and a passive filter section to help reduce unwanted noise and distortion. Our design utilizes high quality components like high tolerance through hole resistors and high quality film capacitors throughout. Many other products offered in the same price range use simple, single gain-stage topologies with and active filter sections resulting in higher distortion and an increase in unwanted noise. Amazing.
This is an amazing phono amp for the price. It's put together well and is compact.While I don't have the specs nearby, it's on the level of preamps that are in the $150 to $300 price range. If you're running your turntable straight from the outputs in your receiver stop and get one of these. If you're running you're turntable from a cheap preamp by Pyle, the Art DJ, or any other budget preamp; upgrade to this. This is on the level of your Project boxes and Cambridge preamps and outshines many of those options even at it's price.Admittedly, I know one of the individuals involved in making it, so I'm slightly biased. However, I know exactly what he put into this preamp and know it's online with the higher end brands. Once Lucid Labs gets the name recognition and budget audiophiles start ranting and raving on Reddit, you'll be upset you didn't pick this up for less that $100.
