The one thing you don't have
To work on a Volkswagen you have to have a dwell meter it's almost impossible exception points and your timing without it but I'll tell you what it's a good product and a hell of a good price pardon my language I've used it more than one time I guarantee you that thanks for holding the prices down

Just like the one built 50-60 years ago, and just as easy to use!
I bought this to replace the damaged SunPro Dwell/Tach that belonged to my grandfather (who was a mechanic). This unit is not has "heavy" as the old SunPro because the case is plastic, not metal, but the cable length, dial markings, and switch are EXACTLY the same as the one built in the 1950's or '60's that I grew up using.I have used this unit to accurately gauge rmps for my 2-cyl motorcycle (even though it doesn't specify use for 2-cyl, just gauge accordingly on 8-cyl scale), 4-cyl cars, and my antique V8's. Setting/measuring the Dwell is easy, accurate, and simple using this meter. Voltage measurements rival any digital meter... and you can see pulses and spikes easily by watching the needle! If you have a vehicle and do your own wrench-turning, you can't be without this analyzer... especially if you have antiques that have points in the distributor.

Works for me!!
My 45 year old Dwell meter finally bit the dust and I needed a replacement in a hurry. I found this one on Amazon and ordered it. I just rebuilt the distributor on my 1967 car and got to try it out right away. The meter was easy to use and comes with instructions on how to hook it up. I was able to set the dwell angle and adjust the engine RPM easily. You can also use the meter to check the voltage on various circuits in your car. The meter appears to be well made and is just what I needed, without spending a lot of money. If you like to tinker with old cars like I do, you might find this a useful addition to your tool box.

Works Well With Older Vehicles
I bought this to help tune my 1962 Belvedere. This type of unit has been around forever and still works great. Very simple three position switch with volts, RPMs, and dwell. The scale is graduated for 4 and 8 cylinder motors and easy to read. I have needed something to show RPMs to set my fast idle and hot idle. I originally bought an induction type RPM reader and it was garbage, jumped all over the place and unreliable. This Actron unit is a must have for older points type cars. It has two leads, one attaches to ground and the other to the (-) coil post and that's it. Buy this and a vacuum gauge and you are all set to tune up your vehicle.

Good but could be better
Not very responsive in it's movements. It also needs more ranges for the RPM scale either with the gauge face or switch settings in the front to give it more usefulness. Also some of the scale readings in red don't stand out enough over the black background. It would have been better in yellow or something with better contrast. Accuracy is yet to be determined but it should be close. Given the price, I guess that's about the best one can hope for today.

My 36 year old analyser had just died and after much searching I was fortunate to locate a replacement at Amazon to keep my old classics in tune, I ordered the Actron CP7605 and it arrived after a few days in good order. The new analyser is functioning perfectly with repeated accuracy. It does not have the RPM range of my old unit but feel it is great value money considering the rarity of these older style analysers nowadays. Thanks Amazon for the prompt service and maintaining the availability of this item.

Nice unit !
I can't tell you how long I searched for one of these. The 50+ year old unit I had bit the dust and all I could find were the "multi-meter" style hand held meter analyzers. Did not care for the design and the ratings weren't all that great on those units. This is just what the Doctor ordered. Works great (even on 6 volt positive ground old vehicles) and the price was even better. AND it was delivered "free". I couldn't be happier with the unit.

He "likes it ".
I'm happy with this purchase. Have not used all functions yet so I can only rate on visual appearance.First the "pro".Good quality housing (plastic) . The ability to reset the red needle if it goes off the zero mark. The three position switch is sturdy and positive locking.A nice touch on the back is the four resting tabs rather then just a smooth plastic backing . The nit-picking cons are # 1. The positive lead is green ( green?) . #2 The lead wires come with a CANCER warning and advise user to wash hands after handling (really?) .Last ... a carry handle would be handy. I recommend this product and of course the price is very attractive. Oh! One more "pro". Comes with a very good instruction Manuel.
