So glad we got to see how The Ward’s met. Loved seeing Diego get his own HEA too. Can’t wait for Darcy’s book now too.

Adventure and hot romance
This author hasn’t released stories recently set in her Treasure Hunter series so I was very pleased to see she hadn’t forgotten them . This particular book is two stories in one volume and the first The Emerald Tear takes us right back to the beginning when the parents of the Ward siblings first met in hot and steamy Ecuador. It’s easy to see that Persephone is a wild, free spirited and passionate individual but don’t discount Oliver because although perhaps more studious if there’s a fight to be fought you can rely on that gorgeous man !The second story brings us bang up to date with a couple of characters who were instrumental previously in helping Treasure Hunter Security. Diego has not forgotten the agent who handcuffed him and gets the shock of his life when she turns up asking him to help her uncover a ship wreck. It just so happens to be a very welcome surprise and it’s clear that no matter how tough or resourceful Sloan is being with Diego lights up all her buttons! Now if they could just get the treasure safely recovered perhaps there would be time to explore exactly what they are both feeling but alas they are not alone in searching for the Emerald Butterfly and their opposition doesn’t care who gets hurt !I loved that although this journey involving priceless emeralds begins in the first story it’s finished in the second which made it feel complete. What surprised me was the fact that these two stories are pure unadulterated action, romance and good old fashioned fun. The reason I’m surprised is because quite often the author imbues her artefacts with almost supernatural powers and this time she let the adventure and hot romance have all the limelight. Oh and I must point out if you want to know what’s happening with the rest of the Ward family and in particular Darcy and a certain arrogant and annoying agent you really don’t want to miss this book. This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Percy and Oliver
This is two books in one well short story's.first up is the parent's story of Dec,Cal and Darcy so I'm guessing about 30 years ago.personally I would of liked this story after Darcy but I am wondering if the bad guy in this is the collector so we needed the history? It's the only thing to me to make sense why we are reading this now.I have not read part two yet so I'm off to read the next story. This one is only 68 pages so it's fast pasting but I like that better then all the useless filler that sometimes gets added to storysPart two Diego and slone this short story takes you back to currant time. The last book ended with Darcy getting a call from the agent (her nickname for him really starts to get to you it's to childish) he asks her to go to DC in this short story that continues she goes but comes to help slone at the end of this story it ends on a cliff hanger for Darcy story.we saw Diego when Morgan met Zack and used his boat, this is a quick story with Diego finding love and Darcy is in it a lot to.

Wow
I love how we get the story behind the Ward family who own and run Treasure Hunter Security. It's a great book that explains the Emerald Tear in Ecuador found by Oliver Ward and Persephone who has a map that leads from his dig to the statue with the Emerald Tear. Then you move on to the find of the Emerald Butterfly in Florida aboard the sterncastle of infamous Nuestra Senora de Atocha not found by Mel Fisher. Both are exciting action packed treasure hunting stories that Anna Hackett does best. I highly recommend this book. There's a snippet at the end about Darcy Ward and Agent Burke with their quest to find Silk Roads The Collector.

Great short stories to warm up to finally. Can’t wait to get on Darcy’s story. I’m amazed how author kept sliding bits in every book of the series and now the big reveal!!

Short but packed with action
I don’t normally like short stories, there never seems to be enough time for both the action and the emotional journey of a romance, but in this book that was definitely not the case, perfect combination of both. Loved it.

Anna Hackett at her best!
Two novellas in one book! Two Inca emeralds to be found. The Emerald Tear: the first of the novellas is the story of how Dec, Cal and Darcy's parents met! Dr Oliver Ward was leading a dig for his university in Ecuador when he met Persephone Blake. He knew she was special when she came in with her gun blasting as bandits attacked the dig. From that point on it's action and romance all the way. Persephone is on the trail of an Aztec emerald which she hopes will help towards her retirement fund. But, Silk Road operatives are in contention even then and Oliver isn't going to let her face them by herself. The Emerald Butterfly: DEA agent, Sloane McBride's, grandfather is dying. He is an old colleague of Oliver Ward and has always wanted to find the Emerald Butterfly. This is another Incan treasure that was lost when the Spanish ship, the Nuestra Senora De Atocha was lost in a hurricane off the Miami coast. Sloan has developed a computer program that she is certain has isolated the site where the Atocha went down. Darcy Ward is a close friend and she recommends that Sloan contact Diego Torres for help.Diego is an ex SEAL and friend to the THS guys. He owns a research and salvage vessel called the Storm Witch and has all the equipment necessary for an underwater search. Unfortunately his crew are all in vacation, as he is supposed to be but Darcy calls in a favour on behalf of Sloan. He realises too late that she is the SEA agent who handcuffed him when she thought he was obstructing her search for drugs on a recent case.Under the circumstances they decide to put the past in the past and go search for the missing emerald.Once again, Silk Road is on their trail with intention of killing them if necessary. Both novellas have their fair share of romance and action and are a pleasure to read!

2 great books in one!
Series: Treasure Hunter Security #7THE EMERALD TEAR5 StarsIt's the 1970's and archeologist Oliver Ward is in Ecuador digging up what he believes to be a small village, so he's shocked when armed men raid the dig. Then things get really unexpected when the famous -- or maybe infamous -- treasure hunter Persephone Blake shows up. She's after the legendary Emerald Tear and even though she thinks Oliver is just a pampered professor, she agrees to team up with him. To say these two set off fireworks with each other is an understatement and their chemistry is a big factor in my rating. From the first moment they meet, Oliver and Percy have this delicious tension that kept me turning pages. And that waterfall scene? Oh my!Of course the action was spectacular as always; Anna Hackett knows her adventure and I felt like I was reading something out of an Indiana Jones movie but a whole lot steamier! It was great to go back in time and see how the predecessors to the Treasure Hunter Security business met and to see an early reference of the evil Silk Road organization. Percy and Oliver have a whirlwind jungle romance and though Percy, who is slow to trust, puts up some resistance she can't stay away from Oliver.--------------------THE EMERALD BUTTERFLY4 StarsThough the Inca's Emerald Tear was found by Oliver and Percy the companion Emerald Butterfly was lost long ago after being stolen by the Spaniards. DEA agent Sloan McBride is determined to find the Butterfly before her beloved grandfather dies of cancer and to accomplish that she needs the help of Diego Torres. But the last time Sloan and Diego met, she boarded his boat and handcuffed him so she figures he's not going to want to help her. Just like the previous story, we have two characters who butt heads and thrive on tension and attraction. Though I really enjoyed these two together I wanted some more time for them to get to know each other. With all the action and running for their lives, I felt like Diego and Sloan needed just a bit more to fully realize their feelings. As an added bonus we got a quick peek at Treasure Hunter Security's computer expert, Darcy Ward and Agent Arrogant and Annoying. I've been dying for their story so I loved this quick look and now I can't wait for the next and final installment for THS!
