Easy to do recipes that tastes great. Make all of the sauces, they are all good.

I really enjoyed purchasing this, but as with a lot of things, needed to purchase another copy. If you ask me, one recipe makes this a great buy, "Mamaw's German Potato Salad," which is baked and proven award winning and memorable to those that I have given it to.I love just about every recipe in this and of course Barbecue is in there with various recipes, sops and sauces. Also just about every side that adds to the Barbecue experience. Very well put together.

I just received the book today. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of recipes, and noted that not all the recipes require whiskey.Obviously, the focus is on barbecue. However, it also includes sides, breads, desserts, beverages, etc. I like that it's not a cumbersome book, and that many recipes list common ingredients. There are also little essays you can read.Quite honestly, there are recipes I know I won't make, as is true for most people with most cookbooks. That being said, there is a large number (the majority) that I look forward to trying. My brother, who isn't big on cooking, even found it interesting to read through (gift idea!).

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BOOK!!!! IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT TO KNOW ABOUT HOW TO BAR-B-Q,FROM RUBS TO SAUCES AN BACK AGAIN,,ALL THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF COOKERS AN SMOKERS,ALL THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO BAR-B-Q FROM ACROSS THE SOUTH. ITS TAKES YOU ON A JOURNEY WITH SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PICTORIALS OF THE SOUTH YOU CAN IMAGINE SHOWING THE DIFFERENCES FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER IN THEIR METHODS OF BAR-B-Q.BESIDES ALL THAT,,,IT HAS MANY RECIPES FOR SIDE DISHES, BREADS,CAKES, PIES AN DRINKS---SEVERAL MADE WITH JACK DANIELS. Probably the best BBQ cookbook around.Great recipes not only for meats, but also for side dishes and desserts.

Has great recipes that you will use over and over.

I love this item as well as all the Jack Daniels Cookbooks! I love all the stories that are included in the book! It is enjoyable reading even if you are not much of a reader. You kind of get caught up in the story. Recipes are from the good old days. Be prepared to say huh on some of the terminology though. I think it adds to the character of the book but I was reading the recipes and saying what is that. I found myself Googling some of the words and I am pretty hillbilly myself.
