Supplying Demand 68-23427-25 Compressor Sound Blanket 8.8dB Noise Reduction Rating 17x10 Inches

I got a new Bryant 3 ton heat pump recently, and it was a bit noiser than the 2.5ton AC it replaced. My master bedroom has a cantilever truss above the unit and when it was turning on, I could hear a reverberation that would wake me up anytime the heat pump needed to run. This of course was a problem because most of the time the heat pump runs in heat mode is early in the morning to heat the house, so I was getting woken up about 5:30 in the morning. Anyway, after some youtube reviews of this item, i decided to pull the trigger and order this compressor blanket. It came fast, and it was easy to install by just watching a youtube video on how to put it on. It fit my compressor perfectly the first try with little fuss. I turned the unit on, and the NIOSH sound app on my iPhone recorded 68db prior to the blanket and after the blanket it read 62db in the same spot. Didn't seem like a huge drop, but i took it. This morning when the heat kicked on, I noted that the reverberation is completely gone and I only hear a faint fan noise from the unit in my bedroom now, but it will not be waking me up now. Overall happy camper!

Just what I thought it would do! I had been looking for ways to quiet our hvac that is placed right outside of our mbdrm. Came across this item on a video and decided to give it a try, easy to install and it made the heat pump much quieter.

Dont think it made much of a difference but it is well made and good fit

This didn’t make my a/c unit totally quiet but it definitely got rid of the annoying hammering sound from the compressor. Now it’s mostly the fan noise that you hear. Fit perfectly with zero modifications on the LG compressor of the Rheem 4 ton unit. Thankfully easy to install since the condenser is three feet high. Highly recommended product.

Just installed today. Took 1/2 to remove fan and install seems much more quiet . condenser set next to back porch area. Couldn’t talk it was so loud hopefully this is the fix.

Works as advertised and noticeably reduces the compressor noise, leaving the more pleasant fan noise as the dominant sound of the outdoor AC u it. It’s pre-cut to fit around the suction and discharge tubes of Copeland and Alliance compressors perfectly, and sits very neatly when installed. There’s another brand that touts their two-piece design that folds around the compressor, and while it might work better for older reciprocating compressors with an oval case, it’s sloppy and loose compared to this design. I removed it in favor of this one for a scroll compressor. I installed this sound blanket on a 4-ton, 2-stage Copeland compressor in a Lennox system, and on a 2-ton Alliance compressor in a Trane/American Standard heat pump. Trimming about an inch off the “hem” of the blanket made it fit the 2-ton as neatly as the 4-ton, which was perfect right out of the box.

I received the compressor sound blanket on 26 May 2023, installed it same day , noticed only 1db of noise reduction. I decided to keep it anyway. As weather temp started to reach above 85 degree around end of June, I noticed my ac unit was having hard time keeping the house cool at the set thermostat temperature of 74 degree. Ac kept running non stop 24/7. inside house temp was varying between 75-77 degree. Changed AC air filters, evaporator coils were not freezing, drip pan draining Ok , everything checked normal with AC unit. Then, after about 4 days, ac quit cooling. it turned out the capacitor ( less than one year old) blew up. After changing the capacitor, and finding no issues with Ac unit.... temp inside the house kept fluctuating between 75-77. I finally decided to remove this noise reduction blanket taking it off the compressor. Noticed compressor was extremely hot while taking it off. After running the ac overnight without this noise jacket, AC started to work normal again, keeping the house at set temp of 74 degree. Everythingis OK now without this noise blanket on. Even noise level is lower now without it. It seems the overheating of compressor caused it to overwork, it contributed to the increase in noise and vibration level. Now, I can't return this product, stuck with it because its been more than 30 days since I bought it. I wasted $100 on this product , had to pay for repairing the capacitor,, and luckily it did not damage or burn the compressor. That's why I gave it a poor review.

The description said it would fit my compressor size, even a slightly bigger one…. Not even close. Had to cut and modify which defeats the sound deadening design. Added a bunch of mass loaded vinyl on top a taped it up. Works pretty good after significant modifications
