Worked in my International Lonestar
I am a truck driver and needed a replacement for the stock air horn in my truck. This review is for model 69988 Little General Train Horn. Amazon lumps together the reviews from three different models here. This horn did what I needed it to do for a reasonable price. It was pretty straightforward swapping it out too. The trickiest part was probably removing the solenoid which I did not need for my application since the truck already has an air horn relay, solenoid, and air line. There is not much room to get a wrench between the three horn trumpets to loosen the solenoid. Aside from that, it fit into the same position as the factory horn on my truck and the holes in the mounting bracket even lined up. The fitting for the air line matched and didn't require any adapter. I had it mounted and operating within minutes which was a pleasant surprise. A full size train horn would not have fit in the factory mounting location on my truck so it would have required finding a new mounting position and rerouting the air lines.Calling the Little General a "train horn" is an exaggeration. It is nowhere near the volume of a train horn but it is adequately loud as an air horn for a transport truck. I'm not trying to scare the pants off anyone, I'm just wanting to be sure that I am heard in traffic. I don't find the tone or sound quality all that pleasing, but that is a minor quibble. It is louder than the stock factory air horn on my International Lonestar (which is probably the same horn as a Prostar) which I always found a little wimpy, being roughly the same volume as my electric city horn. It is also much cheaper than the factory horn from the dealer (about CAD250 when I checked). I am satisfied with the purchase. The only question is how long it will last which remains to be seen.

Be seen and heard
First off I drive a large work truck small enough to be in the fast lane on the freeway at 75mph but also big enough that people think its ok to cut you off because its a big truck which makes zero sense. Anyways I was tired of the factory electric horn not being heard and not getting any notice when i had to say my piece back to less than considerate fellow motorists, so I first bought a $40 “train horn” here on the Zon it did the job for about a year then the cheap plastic diaphragm blew and would no longer toot. So again I was on the hunt for something better & willing to spend more money for a quality product (go figure) I came across this horn read a few other reviews and pulled the trigger. Horn arrived installed it connected to air and damn if its not noticeable! So if youre looking to put this on a semi with existing air or a pickup/service truck like me I doubt you’ll be disappointed, its well made all metal horns are brass base & bracket appear to be mild steel/cast. It is quite large so dont expect to be able to mount this to your corrola or ford ranger with ease it’s going to require some room as well as air volume. All that being said I purchased this for $150 in early Nov of 21 I believe its gone up in price since then but id gladly pay the current price if i had to.
