Her Treasure Hunter Ex (Ballybeg Bad Boys, Book 1)

The great thing about this story was that it was about more than just two people reconnecting and falling in love. There was a whole other story about scuba divers that dive for corporations and some of them also hunt for treasure. Its really fun to read and kept me gripped throughout.

An interesting read, I particularly liked the situation with the ship wreck and the extra information given. I enjoyed the dialogue, the characters were great and the plot twists were good too. At times I found it a little slow paced. Overall its a sweet, hot but not too racy, romance with a satisfying ending.

The title was what grabbed me for this one, and the synopsis sold it to me.The second chance love trope is one that I really enjoy, add in an unusual backstory, in that our couple are diving the wreck of the Lusitania off of the Irish coast for missing jewels, and that not everyone on the crew is on the up and up, and Declan and Katy's story kept me entertained for a few hours.”You’re certain you want to start something with me again? It didn’t end well last time.”The reason this only got a 3 star rating for me is that our couple have a past between them that isn’t pretty, and I felt that it was all resolved and forgotten about very quickly, and before you know it they were back to being a couple again.It didn’t quite ring true with me, and the reconnection felt rushed and underdeveloped, if you are going to add certain tropes into your story line, I think they needs to be addressed a little more in depth than it was done in Her Treasure Hunter Ex.The suspense side of the book was well plotted and the ending held a few surprises, and I would certainly look to read more from Zara Keane in the future.ARC generously provided via Netgalley, in exchange for the above honest review.

This is a short read with likable characters, though the ending felt a bit rushed. Would have liked for it to be played out more with the suspense prolonged but still enjoyed it.

Its always fascinating to read a book and find out how two people come back together, after their ups and downs and the pain that they both go though. And the fights / disagreements always ends up being something so ridiculous. Then they find out, that they belong together. But l guess that is what makes a story so interesting.

Her Treasure Hunter Ex is the first book that I have read by Zara Keane, and the first book in the Ballybeg Bad Boys series.It takes place in Ballybeg Ireland and introduces us to Katy Ryan, an underwater photographer, and Declan (Dex) Fitzgerald. Declan is the brother of Seán Mackey, the hero in Love and Shamrocks. Katy and Dex’s past relationship suffered a tragedy that ultimately ended with them going their separate ways.It is only when they arrive to begin their new assignment that they discover who they will be working with. Katey would never have signed on for this job if she knew Dex were here. He was supposed to be out of the country. For Dex, the love of his life was talking to his brother. Their first thoughts were what is he/she doing here? Can they put aside the past to complete the job ahead of them?This is an awesome romantic suspense story that brings together a second chance at love with a mystery revolving around a historical sunken ship, the Lusitania, a hidden treasure, and the race to find it. Zara’s writing and descriptions are brilliant and make you feel like you can actually picture Ballybeg and the characters in your head. You will feel as if you are watching a movie. This is definitely a "can’t put down" book.

Her Treasure Hunter Ex is well-written with minor errors. It is fast-paced with action, intrigue, and romance. Katy is strong and intelligent with emotional baggage. Dex is sexy and charming with reckless tendencies. I appreciated the progression of their relationship, and enjoyed the journey to rekindling their love. The epilogue was sweet, and left me smiling. Overall, good read.

A short but sweet twist on underwater treasure hunting story. Katy Ryan has finished her PHD and has been approached to join a team to recover artifacts from the Lusitania. Katy is an underwater photographer and has had a fascination with the Lusitania, since her great grandparents had survived the sinking ship. She agrees to join the team with the hope that she can help pay for her mother's expensive medical bills by taking this job. Katy enters the apartment her sponsor has secured for her and finds her ex fiancé Dee Fitzgerald in the apartment. Katy almost turns to leave but knows she has to see this through for her mother's sake. The story is good but there are places in the story where expanding the knowledge of the Lusitania would improve the historical impact of the scenes and what the divers discover. There is also the problem of explaining how Katy was an 8 year US Navy veteran? Katy was on other dive teams with Dex. (It is how they met) Then to finish her PHD? Does the writer realize how many years that those combined experiences make a believable story when Katy is portrayed as still being young.
