This bookshelf unit is very sturdy and pretty easy to assemble. It took me about half a day to put it together, but I'm 61 and was working alone, and was also cleaning the apartment and taking breaks as I went. If you're younger and/or have an assistant, it will go faster. The first group of pics shows the layer-by-layer unpacking so that you can see how well-packaged it was. My cats, Gabby and Elvira, approved of the entire process. Second set of photos includes all of the hardware laid out. Best thing to do is place it all on a tray or plate so you don't lose anything. Those black rectangles were part of the packaging and I figure I can use them for something artsy. Do yourself a favor: ditch the useless little hex wrenches that are included and buy a set of proper ones in both metric and regular measurements. This project required the 3 and 4 mm ones. The ones in the kit are so small that you won't be able to get a proper grip on them. Once I got out the right tools, assembly went much faster. Elvira likes to supervise. When it came time to put the crossbars on the back of the unit, I found that the bolts included weren't long enough to go through the center, where they cross. Luckily, there were two extras of the longer bolts included, so I was able to use those, instead. The reason I bought this is because I needed shelves to put in back of the bed, which I decided would be a better, and cheaper, option than hanging separate shelves on the wall, as I didn't want to make more holes in the plaster. This provides loads of room for books, part of my mug collection, and knick-knacks. I placed a towel on the bottom shelf for the cats to lay on, and Elvira seems to love it. Note that, in the Amazon description photos, the rims of the shelves are shown at the back. Since I didn't want stuff falling on my head at night, I turned the shelves with the rims facing the front. All in all, I am pleased with how this looks.

I am so very happy with these bookshelves! I ordered two sets and took pictures of the first unit I completed. I added books to the shelves so you can see how much these bookshelves hold. They are really beautiful shelves and I’d hoped they’d look nice and I’d hoped they’d be sturdy, well, they are more than I hoped for. Not only do they look very nice once finished the strength can’t be beat. Each item was clearly marked. The instruction manual was easy to follow and using the pamphlet I seperated the different size screws/bolts. The strength comes from how they are put together so I’ll explain that. Once I’d put the shelves together using not only screws but dowels for added strength, I put together the frame which the frame is easily assembled including the feet on each post. The cross bars add stability and strength as well. So, once shelves and base was assembled I was impressed to find that each shelf is attached by screws to the frame. It was very easy to assemble and turned out to be a very strong, and good looking unit. My wall will accommodate two of these units and I’m looking forward to my wall of books knowing that I’ve nothing to worry about. These shelves are made to last for years to come. I had a question for the manufacturer and used the email address on the back of the instruction manual. You know how often we buy from some company who wants nothing to do with us once they e got our money. That is NOT this company. They quickly responded to my inquiry and were eager to help. It is a rare thing these days and I appreciate good customer service. I hope if you are trying to decide between this companies products and another’s that my review will help you. I did not receive any compensation for my review but I can tell you if they asked me to do a satisfied customer commercial I’d be happy to do so. The wood is strong and beautiful. The frame is sturdy and nicely finished. The instructions are easy to follow, yes, I am a satisfied customer.

Great shelf. Put together by myself. Was easy to put together, but took a while. Lots of screws. Everything was manufactured correctly, screw holes in the right spots. Instructions were very clear. Very sturdy, and looks great. Perfect solution for our need. Would buy again. Great price. The wood grain and color are very nice. Fit our space well, and the minimal footprint and wide shelves means it's a great use of space.

This is a beautiful bookshelf. I assembled it in about an hour with the assistance of my 5 yr old; it was relatively easy & repetitive. Building each shelf was a little bit tedious because it has the side panels to keep books and items from slipping off the shelves (especially in a house with cats). We left the top shelf empty & the kitties have found their way up there and are enjoying it. I've only given this a 4 star review because the MDF used for the shelves is visibly flexible, and I would have preferred something that was more rigid out of the box. That said, the center support does prevent any visible sagging, at least for now. We're in a very humid climate though, so I am not sure how long the shelves will actually last. I would love to buy another for a different room. Also a bonus are the adjustable feet and I like the hardware they included for anti-tip purposes. It's very sturdy with the metal frame. I was able to lift and move the bookshelf into place, and I am only 5' tall.

Easy to put together, extremely sturdy and stable even on carpet, nice color, high weight capacity on shelves. I got two to make a library wall; at least $200 less than any comparable bookshelf arrangement. Excellent value

I bought this to use as pantry shelves in a narrow hallway and it fits like a charm. I like the way it looks with the “wooden” shelves. It has a sturdy feel and I am confident it will not tip over. It was not hard for me to assemble on my own. The instructions were clear. It took me about 3 hours on my own to assemble. That time could be cut at least in half if working with a partner. There were stickers on the boards that were not easily removable with just my fingernails but they came off with a little bit of Goo Gone. This new shelf is a huge upgrade from a basic metal shelving unit. I love it!

Got it for $80 and it's exactly what I needed. Took 2 hours to assemble but it was worth it. Very happy with the shelf unit and I felt the price was great. Would get another one but I'm not fond of putting things together. I would recommend this. It's sturdy and it looks very nice.

Este producto llegó a tiempo y en buen estado. Me sorprendió que como parte del HERRAJE viniera un desarmador con puntas intercambiables una tipo de "cruz" y la otra "plana",. El que tiene punta de "CRUZ" NO SIRVE para atornillar las pijas pues NO entra en la parte superior de los tornillos; a todas luces se ve que NUNCA PROBARON que dicho desarmador de "cruz" sirviera para esos tornillos . La intención fue buena pero me cuesta trabajo entender que NUNCA lo hayan probado si servís o no, acabé usando un destornillador de los que tengo

I wanted a bookcase wall to fill a room and put books and stuff so I purchased two (2), and these are just perfect, very beautiful, sturdy, very well built. Before purchasing, I read the comments on Amazon and people were talking about having the proper tools so, I was prepared! There are A LOT of screws and although the kits comes with neat tools, it's an insane amount of work to do all manually! If you are prepared with a proper electric drill, it's just perfect, no issues at all. Kits come with spare screws, tools, build instructions and it is very easy to follow. It is also very well packaged with a safe amount of padding. One of the box arrived a bit smashed and I was worried, but everything was perfect inside, nothing bent or broken, super packaging! I'm very happy with my purchase !!! Exactly what I wanted.

I purchased this shelf to put next to my grow tent, It carries all of my supplies, fertilizers and other accessories, Assembly was lengthy but worth it. It's reasonably solid, comes with adjustable feet an has an appealing appearance. The only thing i will recommend is that you install the wall hold-down strap just to be safe.
