A "MUST-HAVE" for fans of this film and those who want in on the business
The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films of the new millennium...a fact supported by its grossing over $1 billion worldwide (about $1.5 billion after DVD sales), its practically unanimous praising by critics and moviegoers alike (those few naysayers can go screw themselves), and (when stacked against the previous Batman films, sans Batman Begins ) the best superhero comic-adapted film of all time.Inside this 240 page book are all the elements that went into the making of this amazing film, including:Storyboard artCharacter sketchesStill photosand perhaps most valuable of all...Nolan's original shooting script!!! (some slight changes between this and the final film, but ultimately it all worked out for the better). My only regret for this book is how little of it is dedicated to Harvey Dent/Two-Face. It's mostly pics of clay sculptings and a short quotation from Aaron Eckhart explaining the special effects. However, this is not enough for me to downgrade my review from five stars. This is the perfect companion to The Art of Batman Begins .I can't wait for Nolan's next installment in the franchise "The Dark Knight Rises", due in theaters July 20, 2012 (no question the companion book for that film will be equally spectacular).

A nice item for the invloved fan.....
This book is about on par with the hardbound that was released for thefirst film; nice format but unless you are a TRUE fan of these films itmay leave you a bit underwhelmed. There are enough nice photos, but Imyself have never been a big fan of reading scripts, which is includedin this volume in its entirety. But the fact that you are here reading user reviews for it shows thatyou are interested enough! Buy it; you like it!-John in Santa Cruz

Runs Circles around the Dark Knight Art Book
Any self respecting Dark Knight fan wants both the art and the script, especially with the script maybe being the best written mafia/superhero script ever and the best script with any mafia presence since perhaps the Godfather Part II. Almost a shoo in to win best screenplay this year among other Oscars (Heath Ledger, most notably).Really runs circles around the Batman Begins art book. Authors of this book give you a generous helping of behind the scenes art and stories but doesn't run like 500 pages like "the Art of the Matrix"Very well done and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Production Book: The Dark Knight
This is a solid book for any fan of "The Dark Knight". The pictures are spectacular and the production sketches are very interesting. Do understand that over half the content of the book is the script. That's a nice feature for some fans of the movie, but a let down for those more interested in visuals.

Shipping Blunder!
All together, I think the book is really great! The pictures are amazing, including the pictures on the actual cover, not the slip cover. The concepts of everything are very interesting and will only add to any collection you have. Great product!

Great book for fans of The Dark Knight!
This is an amazing book that contains a ton of great color photos from the movie as well as the entire script. It is very interesting and fun to see what subtle changes occured from the script to the screen, as well as what you may have heard incorrectly at the theater. Any fan of The Dark Knight would be sure to enjoy this book.

It's for those who loved the movie.
Ok, so what surprised me was that the art-section of the book is the first 65 pages of the book and the other 175 pages are the script for the movie. But it doesn't really matter because the script is amazing. If you have seen the movie you can basically start to read the script anywhere you want to and it's fun to see how they originally imagined the scenes eventhough the changes they made for the final movie version were pretty minor. There are also some storyboard sketches and movie stills presented alongside with the script. The story is really entertaining as well as imagining the scenes from the movie as you read. And because it's the actual script - not a novel based on a screenplay - you'll get a feeling reminiscent of the one you get from watching a making-of of a movie. It's the movie when it only exsisted in the heads of the amazing creative people who in my opinion wrote the best screenplay for a comic-book movie ever. The art-section of the book includes concept art for the characters, set pieces, vehicles and weapons, storyboard sketches and some stills from the movie itself. I've been always a bit sceptical about movie stills in an art book, but these look good and fit in. Theres a lot of text explaining how the came up with these different costumes and designs, I especially enjoyed the concepts for Joker (there are many), as some of them look even more haunting than than the final Heat Ledger version. It's a semi-thick book and looks great on my bookself. The front cover has a portrait of Joker and the back cover has Batman. The back of the dust jacket has a cool picture of batman on his Bat-Pod which I think was one of images they used for the posters for the movie.Overall it's a great book. Everything it consisted intrested me and it's a good gift for those who want to know how their favorite comic-book movie was made.

Great Book. But Not For All Batman Fans!!!
I had read other reviews of this product, but, decided to purchase the item. However, the book is made of high quality material and packaged very well. But, the book is not for my personal taste. It contains a great deal of scripts throughout the movie.Limited on other material, which fans may find disappointing. I may pass this book on to one of my personal friends, who is into the detail of script and plots of the movie.

Ok book, but not a true "making of"...
This book is a tad dispointing. I was expecting it to contain lots of behind the scenes photos and images, movie artwork ect, but 2/3rds of the book is made up of the script. Very little "making of" like many other books that have been previouly released for major blockbuster films.

But if a rip off
Slightly disappointing consider there was a sticker for £2 on the book and I paid far more than that bit of a rip off really.
