Star Trek Cats: (Star Trek Book, Book About Cats) (Star Trek x Chronicle Books)

This book is an absolutely must have for those of us who love both cats, and Star Trek! The excellent artist who created it has placed various breeds in Original Series uniforms (Scotty is a Scottish Fold, of course!) and swapped out the humans in some of the most iconic episodes with her detailed cat drawings. She has even illustrated the original sets! This is the perfect gift for yourself, or for any friends who also love Star Trek, and cats! It’s really outstanding, and I’m so happy to have it!

Enjoyed the project with this little book. It brought me back to my childhood watching the TV show and my love for animals yes cats..very interesting and productive combination. Well done.

I love Star Trek and cats and so this book was right down my alley, so to speak. The drawings/paintings are amazing and well done with great detail and I got a kick out of how the cat breeds used for each crew member were so appropriate. Each page is a scene from one of the episodes which are all listed in the back of the book. It's a small hard cover book and very well done. I have the other book as well, and I hope the author will do books on the other Star Trek series.

This is the perfect small size book for anyone who is a cat lover and a fan of Star Trek. The author/artist has presented a series of vignettes from the original series with cats representing the crew. I especially appreciate the breeds of cats she has chosen for this book. From the ginger-colored American short hair (Kirk) to the Scottish fold (Scottie) to the lovely Russian blue (Chekov), each cat wonderfully matches the looks and personalities of the crew members. The book is a hardback in a smaller size (6.75 x 6.75 inches) and is a fairly slim volume. Each scene is from an episode with quotes on the page. It is surprising how fantastic the concept of cats as crew works. At the end of the book, there is a listing (by book page number) of the episode name, season and episode number. The book is a fun purchase and would make an excellent gift. I could only wish it was longer with even more scenes represented – or maybe there could be a second volume. I would love to see other TV series parodied in this way as well.

The pictures are very well done. It's not really a book for reading as it's just clips from random episodes. My toddler LOVES this book. She keeps picking it, I keep sighing. It's hard to read because there is no plot or flow, but she loves the graphics so darn much and laughs at the cats in hats. She knows nothing about Star Trek yet but maybe she'll be a future Trekkie.

I bought this for my son for a birthday present..... but I couldn't resist reading it first. Oh my golly, it had me laughing out loud! It brought back memories of watching the original Star Trek with my dad growing up. And the cats! And the art! Kudos Ms. Parks! You are truly out of this world!!! You have made me a devoted fan.

First, this illustrator is fabulously talented. The drawings of the cats are life-like and very accurate. The combo of Star Trek and cats may at first seem a bit odd to some, but being a cat loving, Sci-fi fan I found this pairing to be delightful and long overdue. I especially appreciate the page with the episode list from which the illustrations correspond to. Over Xmas break, my family and I began an evening endeavor of watching each of these episodes again and trying to spot the scene that inspired the illustration. I’m thrilled my spouse bought this for me for Christmas, it’s been a fun conversation piece as well.

This book is a delight, especially if you are a cat lover AND a Star Trek TOS (the original series) fan, and I am both...in a big way. The author, Jenny Parks, had to be, too! Even if she only has two cats of her own. For instance, she use a Scottish Fold cat to illustrate Scotty, and the long sleek face of the Exotic was purrfect for Spock. The lovely dark face of the Siamese cat made Uhura look her beautiful best, and of course Chekhov had to be a Russian Blue. But nothing else would do for the strong handsome Captain Kirk but our most popular and friendly American shorthair orange tabby! They are all dressed in various outfits from several different episodes of the series and it will have a cat lover rolling with laughter!

Malgré que ce soit en anglais, pour les fan de Stat Trek et de chat c'est absolument génial. L'auteure prend des exemples des séries originales et les met avec les chat. Pour les fans, on reconnaît tout de suite l'épisode. Je recommande ce produit

(La frase de arriba me la acabo de inventar, no es que lo ponga en el libro). El caso es que me gusta mucho Star Trek y me gustan mucho los gatos. Dudé bastante en comprarlo pero la verdad es que es una gozada y no es excesivamente caro. Creí que tendría menos páginas pero es una edición buena y llena de ilustraciones en las que se pueden reconocer a la perfección varios capítulos de la mítica serie. Adjunto la foto para que os hagáis una idea del tamaño, pues cuando lo compré dudaba sobre si sería muy grande o no (es pequeñito). A mí me ha gustado, es una buena compra.

Es ist doch erstaunlich, wie gut man jeden Charakter als Katze erkennen kann. Dargestellt sind die bekanntesten Szenen aus der Serie. Es müsste eine ganze Serie in diesem Stil geben!
