I was about to return it because it played only in black/white and nothing in the setup menu fixed it. I gave it one more chance but removed the red-white-yellow cable and used the HDMI cable and color came through.Instruction about this should come with the unit.

Listing does not state that it cannot be used in the United States. It says multi region. This should be in the heading when it is on the American website. I am irritated, as I bought it as a gift for my German mom who lives in the United States and she can still not play German DVDs on this. By the time I was able to drive it out to her and install it, it was way past the return time. I feel misled by the listing and the short return time.

I was looking for a multi region DVD player. This one isn’t too expensive so I thougt I’d give it a try. I read a couple of reviews where they had problems with the aspect ratio, so I was a bit worried about that. Sure it showed a strange frame at first, like the picture didn’t fill the entire screen. But this was easily fixed by changing settings on the tv. I got it hooked up via hdmi to a Roku tv and it works just fine. I’ve tried region 1 and 2 dvd’s, both works fine without any issues. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for a cheap region free player.

Companies that produce DVD's make them according to region or continents so that the dvd players in the USA cannot play dvd's manufactured in Europe Asia and so on. This dvd player is a region free or European dvd player that plays dvd's from Europe and it works great.

I have a Toshiba widescreen TV. I connected it with the included HDMI cable to an HDMI port. I have it on now, and it works, but there is a big black rectangle around the movie image, so it is not filling the whole screen. I went to Setup, Aspect Ratio, and the only things I saw were to change it to 4:3 or 16:9, and Letterbox or something else. None if it seemed like it would change how large the image shows on the screen. Any ideas for help?I have not yet tried the multi region feature of the DVD player. Currently I'm trying to see if we can fix the image size issue. If not, I will return this.The remote control needs one AAA battery (not provided) and has itty bitty buttons that are very difficult to use. You need to point the remote directly at the DVD player and use a very light touch. Even then, some buttons such as volume up and down do not work.The DVD player I received has an international style plug, with a U.S. adapter provided. It came with an HDMI cable, and it has HDMI output, as well as RCA (red, white, yellow) outputs (no RCA cables provided, however). It has a USB input on the front (I have not tried using that yet.) It has taken me a few days to see if it works or not because I had to order AAA batteries for the remote and wait for those to come.So ... it comes with the U.S. plug adapter and HDMI cable, but it does not come with RCA cables, and it does not come with the one AAA battery needed for the remote control.Thank you!

Love the DVD player because now I can freely purchase DVDs without having to worry about being able to watch them. What I really dislike is I couldn't find a way to simply contact the company and order a replacement for the remote I lost. Finally just got another DVD player, didn't want to, but if I wanted to watch my movies....

This DVD player is great! I needed a player that would play Region 2 DVDs. It worked right out of the box. The picture quality is great. Came with a US adapter plug, remote and the cables needed to hook up to TV. So simple to operate. This is a great player for the price. I am planning on buying another one.

This is not a region code free DVD player like advertised. The DVD player I received was a Region Code 4 for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, Caribbean Region, but not for the United States.There is a setting to change the code:Hit pause with DVD door open,Then start typing 3141590,Then press pause again.0 is the universal region code.

I ordered this because I am a British Canadian .. meaning that I am citizens of both countries and thus I own region 1 and 2 DVD's. The computer software I used to use to play my Region 2 DVD's stopped working and all the alternatives were eye rolling. I faced up to the fact that I simply would have to buy a DVD player.I have a 50 inch HD TV, nothing special but it gets the job done. And this DVD player has the upscaling technology and is very easy to use. It's slim, works nice and fast and accepts all my DVD's. 5 Star rating because this thing simply does exactly what it's supposed to without problems. So if you're an ex-pat like me, have a bunch of other region DVD's and living within the US or Canada then this player is for you. Buy without hesitation.

Compré este reproductor dvd porque he estado comprando dvd's que son region 1 y no los lee mi reproductor bluray. Cuenta con baterias para el control remoto, el control, cable de luz que viene adherido al reproductor, y un cable por si la pantalla que usarás es antigua y usa los cables de colores para audio y video.También cuenta con puerto hdmi (el que yo uso) pero no viene incliudo el cable. Tiene un led que indica si está prendido, la bandeja del dvd sale por lo que es mas difícil que se ensucie el lector.Por lo pronto he utilizado dvd's región 1 y 4 y no he tenido problemas. La caja tiene un papel pegado sobre otro que dice 'multirgion'.A diferencia de las reseñas que leí antes de comprar el producto, no he tenido que cambiar de opción al poner dvd de otra region. El reproductor los lee indiferentemente.Lo gracioso es que, como mi bluray también es marca LG, el control remoto de este DVD enciende ambos reproductores, por lo que tengo que tapar uno para usar el otro je je.Me sirve mucho este producto pues me encanta comprar dvds y muchos de ellos no son para México.

Después de mucho buscar, encontré este dvd multi región a un buen precio.La etiqueta dice R5 y trae un adaptador para conectar el enchufe en México, parece algo extraño pero funciona perfectamente.Ya he puesto películas R1, R4 y funciona perfectamente. Se puede conectar con cable HD lo cual facilita su uso con equipos más recientes.

Ce lecteur n'est certes pas hyper rapide, mais il fait le job !- Livré avec une télécommande (fonctionnant avec une seule pile AA), il peut parfaitement être piloté via une télécommande universelle, le matériel LG étant facilement pris en compte par cette dernière.- Possibilité d'éjecter le média à distance, l'ensemble des commandes attendues sont bien au rendez-vous.- La connectivité est minimaliste mais suffit (HDMI et secteur dans mon cas suffisent amplement)Enfin, notez la petite taille de l'ensemble... il fait presque la même taille en largeur qu'une Box Orange, ce qui représente un atout pas des moindres si comme moi vous n'avez pas des masses de place sous votre TV ! :)
