Specialist paint - do some research before using.
The negative customer feedback regarding this anti mould paint is misleading. As far as performance is concerned, the paint gives good coverage (you can feel the amount of pigment in the paint 'under the brush'. Flows easily, 'open time' is good (the time it takes for the paint to start drying), easy clean up (water based),When using paints with an added fungicide, as with this paint, it is important to remove all mould growth before painting - it is not sufficient to merely apply the paint directly to mould growth. Common trade practice for areas badly affected by mould is to apply a fungicide, wait for a few days and then apply a second wash of fungicide. (In place of fungicide, you can use 3:1 solution of water and domestic bleach). When the area has dried out, apply first coat of anti mould paint, followed by second coat an hour or two later. DO NOT OVERPAINT WITH A NON ANTI-MOULD EMULSION PAINT, if you do the paint will not have an anti mould surface any longer.Happy painting,(Retired FE lecturer in Painting & Decorating)

Really effective anti-mould paint.
I’ve used this paint previously in my old house, so I already knew it would work well. I am having the same problem with mould and damp again in this house now (in the upstairs bathroom really) and so I decided it was time to buy and use an anti mould paint. We have the problem with black mould growing on the bathroom ceiling. It’s relentless once it has taken hold, and no amount of cleaning and anti-mould products will generally stop it. We’ve tried. Plus most anti-mould cleaners contain large amounts of bleach, which then work to yellow any paint work it comes into contact with. Not ideal. So anyway, the best thing to do if you’re experiencing this problem (which I’m sure you are if you’re looking at anti-mould paints such as this) is to use an anti-mould cleaner to kill and remove the mould as best you can, allow the area to fully dry, and then paint with an anti-mould paint.I recommend this paint as having used it before and now again I can say that it works well. You’re looking at around 5-6 years of effectiveness before you’ll have to retreat the area, and yes it will come back eventually, if the root of the problem isn’t solved. Which can be anything from poor insulation, down to condensation from damp.It applies just like any emulsion would, and doesn’t have any bad chemical smell to it. I’d liked it to being pretty much like any emulsion you’d apply to your ceiling, you really wouldn’t tell from texture, smell, or application that it was any different really. It dries pretty quickly (touch dry within about 1-2 hours) and doesn’t require any more than 1 coat, although you could go for 2 if you wanted to be extra sure you’d coated everywhere thoroughly. It comes in a tin pretty much the same size as general woodwork/floor/etc gloss/satin type paints do (750ml tins) but don’t let that put you off, it does cover more of an area than you’d think it would, probably because it’s not a gloopy paint like gloss.I’m so glad there is products like this on the market, because mould is a real nasty thing to have in your home.

Hurrah! It works
Washed mould off around window first with bleach and warm water. Allowed to dry. Then painted this on. It's thick, like gloss and pretty smelly. I done 3 coats over the week. Then finished off with the normal emulsion paint from the rest of the walls. A year and a winter later and still no mould return.

Ronseal say ' Do not paint over'
I bought this product because other customers wrote in their reviews that you could paint over it with any colour paint you wanted. HOWEVER on the tin it says Don't paint over our anti mould paint with any other paint as this stops it working. As my walls are not white this product is of no use.
