Really good value for what it is!
Update: It's been over a month and everything is still working great. I've used the unit a few times for printing, scanning, and copying stuff since and it's all good, even double sided prints are great. We had a power outage too and it did not affect the printer any. It's been a week since I received this item so I wanted to take the time to review it because I've been living with an HP inkjet printer/copier/scanner combo for the past decade and in the recent years, I find that I am using it less and less, but there's always some need for it once every couple of months or so and I'll find that the ink has always gone dry and so I end up buying new ink for it every time I need to use the printer. Frustrated with that, I started searching for a good laser printer/copier/scanner combo for the past few months, but everyone just recommends Brother and their cheapest combo model runs twice the price of this printer and nearly 3x the price of my inkjet. After further research, I found that some people run into an issue with laser printer using a lot of power and potentially setting off the breaker. This unit in comparison appears to run with less power (for a laser printer) and I'm happy to report that I haven't had any issues with it tripping the breaker or any issues with it waking up instantly from sleep mode when I need to print off the network. First, I did check the reviews here and note some people having issues with the wi-fi, so I skipped all that and got myself an ethernet cable along with the printer. I set up the printer near the router and just plugged my printer directly to it via the ethernet cable. Then, I went to their website and downloaded the recommended driver. Run it and it should scan and detect your printer. If it doesn't, make sure your printer is on and is plugged in to router. Additionally, someone here said to use a static IP so I set that up on my router as well for this printer, even though the driver installation had no issues finding the printer even without that step, but I figure if I can skip a possible issue down the line, why not? The last thing you need to know is that after installing the driver on any PCs you want to connect it to, you will want to run or look in the system tray for Canon MF Network Scanner Selector and make sure it is checked ok and running in the system tray. This will allow the machine to detect your PC and you can scan directly to any PC where you have this set up. Otherwise you will need to trigger the scan from the PC which is less convenient if the PC is not next to the printer. The whole setup took less than 10 minutes, I'm not sure why so many people had issues or claim that the setup is super complicated when it is no more complicated than any other printer on the market. Most of the time was spent on removing the tape from the machine itself and plugging it in. Just make sure you follow the directions to remove the orange plastic pieces on the toner. After setting it up, I tested printing from a PC, copying an ID card directly on the machine without any PC involved (great feature by the way, you can print both sides of the ID on one page). I also tested scanning the ID card to my PC and it worked with no issues. The print/copy also came out great without any special tweaking on the printer itself. The machine has a lot of options, but you can leave most of it on default and it does the job fine. Then, I let it sleep and tried printing on another machine the following day to see if it is able to wake up ok after sleeping overnight and I found that it printed almost instantly, taking almost no time to wake up. I tested again a week later (today), and printed 14 pages double-sided and it perfectly printed both sides to 7 pieces of paper perfectly without any extra intervention from me. I also really appreciate the understated features such as being able to tilt the panel to make it easier to see if you are taller like me and the cleverly designed multi-piece cover that covers the entirety of the paper tray so that the paper won't catch any dust sitting there for months. Also, the scanner top also allows you to pull up a bit to scan thicker objects like a textbook for example without leaving the top up. I'm really happy with the purchase so far and I'm so glad that I found this laser printer combo for this price. I will be sure to update if my experience changes

Very Happy with This Printer!
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Very Happy with This Printer! We've been using my Canon Image Class D570 for a few months now, and we are very pleased with it. Itโs the perfect printer for occasional printing needsโwhether itโs scanning documents, making copies, or printing simple black-and-white pages. Print & Scan Quality The prints are crisp and clear, with no smudges or blurry lines. The scanner function also works greatโno issues with resolution or accuracy when copying photos or important papers. Compared to our previous printers this is also less noisy. Easy Setup (Even on Linux!) Setting it up was a piece of cake. On Windows 10/11, it easily connected via Wi-Fi and paired without any issues. Even my MacOS and Linux Mint systems recognized the printer instantlyโno extra drivers needed! Another useful feature is the tilting control panel. It tilts up and makes it easier to work with and then stores away flush with the printer afterwards. This wide compatibility is a big plus if you have multiple devices in your home or office. Great for Small Offices & Homes We use it mostly for quick print jobs when working from home and for our volunteering projects, but it handles everything smoothlyโfrom receipts to professional-looking documents. The control panel is simple, and the wireless setup makes it easy to print from my phone too. Would I buy this again? Absolutely! And Iโd recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable monochrome printer for regular use.

Problematic with Windows 11
Arrived today and it took me 2 hours to set up to my satisfaction. Directions that come in the box are difficult to understand especially the ikea like pictures for the physical setup. Biggest problem is that the scanning feature does not work with Windows 11 - a stupid move on Canon's part since 10 is being phased out. Missing that feature made me consider packing it up and returning. However after a frustrating search online I learned that a Windows app for scanning bypasses the Canon utility and works fine. Connecting to WiFi was a struggle but eventually clicked. Finding the power switch took me a while since it is not located on the control panel. Duh it is on the lower front of the unit. Control panel is a bit complicated. Positives . The quality of output is far better than any inkjets I've owned over the past 30 years. The attractive price was my main reason for buying this. All in all it is a nice AIO printer and I am hoping that it meets my basic needs for home use. Will be curious to seeing how well it works with the third party toner cartridges I purchased.

Exactly what a basic printer should be
It may be too early to write a review, but I replaced an HP printer that broke after about a year and less than 50 pages, and this checks all the boxes on what the other printer lacked. I can't speak to longevity, but I have had good luck with Cannon in the business environment, and this is VERY much familiar to those I've seen in the workplace. Pros: -NO ACCOUNT required to setup or install the printer (looking at you HP) -Software installs easily and makes printer setup short and sweet. -NO phone app required (again with HP) -Drivers easy to find on the website (even puts a RECOMMENDED in big font to help answer the question of "which of these drivers do I download"? -ETHERNET (YES!!!) an available option... Sorry but WiFi is flaky and less reliable. If you don't want to frequently play printing tech support for yourself and your household, avoid WiFi printing. USB is great if you don't plan to share the printer and you only print from one computer (Microsoft has nearly deprecated print sharing to where it is easier to install all printers locally). Ethernet printing is the next most reliable method next to USB (if you know how to set it and forget it). DHCP reservations/static IPs are necessary for ethernet and then it is almost as foolproof as USB, and everyone installs using the IP address locally. (The driver software will do this FOR you). -THERE IS A SCREEN and BUTTONS to manage the printer, communicate errors and warnings if applicable, **This one is essential*** It costs a printer manufacturer a couple bucks and this makes it so much easier to do basic management of the printer. I have flawless Unifi WiFi 7 at my house and typically for printers, you still have problems managing a printer over WiFi with an app. That is NOT a problem for this printer. You do what you need to do on the built in screen and buttons, and then use the Web GUI once you are connected to internet for most tasks. So easy. -Drivers are current. It has drivers and firmware updates recently, which is growing uncommon for MFPs. It tells you that this is still being properly supported, which is important. Bottom line is that if this printer doesn't break like the last HP printer I bought, it is a FAR better value and superior choice to printer without an ethernet port. What a breath of fresh air setting up this printer compared to something that requires a "Smart" app (ironic quotes intended).

Poor support of Windows 11. Printing will probably work (sometimes), scanning - not so much.
I had this printer since 2018. Worked very well with Windows 10. Once I moved to Windows 11, I had nothing but struggle. The most up-to-date driver package for Windows 11 installs, but computer cannot communicate with printer. You cannot print and cannot scan. Canon has no advice how to fix it. Canon discussion forum has some workarounds (apparently, it is a very common problem with Windows 11 and Canon in general, and this model of printer in particular). The best workaround is to manually delete all Canon drivers, let Windows find a driver from its driver pool. Multiple reboots and disconnection and connection of USB. This works for printer, but scanner functionality is lost. You still cannot use Canon scanning software, although Windows Fax and Scan utility worked until recently... until WIndows installed an update which broke everything again. After another couple of hours of struggles, I made printer work again, but completely lost scanning ability and have no idea how to get it back. Computer cannot find scanner. Two options - go back to Windows 10, which unlike Windows 11 works with Canon, or buy a new printer in hope that it would work. Considering that my printer is already 7 years old, I decided to go with option 2, new multifunction device is on order, and it is not a Canon. I am done with Canon printers.

Easy instructions and manuals and drivers at Canon USA site
Most people no longer have DVD/CD drives so the disk in the box (which would be out of date anyway) is useless. I felt like I was back decades in the access to the real manual and drivers using the info in the box. The real manual and the drivers ae easily accessable at usa.canon.com. The manual is a pdf file with clear and easy to read information. There are three drivers/files, an MF Driver and a MF Scanutility and a Toner Status zip file if you want to remotely check the toner status but you don't need to install it and I didn't. If you don' want Canon looking at what you are doing for 10 years after the installs go to apps and uninstall the Canon Survey program. This is very good printer for a small office or home with multiple PCs. You can use network drop or wireless along with a USB cable at the same time. Once you have the files it takes only a few minutes to install and get things going. Actually, in Windows 11 the Windows drivers were good enough to get printing wireless or USB right away. But do the real install from the start - it's better. Key note - just as the warning sticker states on the printer - DO NOT ATTACH THE USB CABLE untlil the MF Driver install tells you to. Also don't even turn on the printer yet. When the program tells you to connect the cable do so and THEN turn on the printer so Plug and Play install works. The printer is fast and prints well. The cart it comes with is not a full 137 cartidge but a starter one that's about half full. You will still get over a thousand pages out of it. Still a good deal. It would have been perfect if the info in the box directed you to the right Canon site in the first place usa.canon.com. The files which you can easily find are in usa.canon.com/support/software-and-drivers. You just download them and run them, no big deal and little to think about. One last thing, in all Apps you wil find the Canon section with the scan app to do scans from the PC. My review and explanation was for a Windows 11 laptop.

Simple instructions and easy set-up
Having read some of the rather negative reviews, I was reticent to purchase. Given AMAZON's return policies and the under $100 price, however, I decided to try the D570 after my HP-M234sdwe stopped working (a unit genuinely deserving of an utterly negative review). I read the manual before starting, confirmed my access to WEP by router, and went down to my studio to unpack the entire unit. Note well: I carefully followed the instructions taped onto and inserted into the D570 and those in the manual. Failure to do so could easily result in several of the scenarios described in the negative reviews. Once all of the protective materials were removed, the toner cartridge gentle shaken and reinserted it into the unit, I plugged it in. I then programmed the language, location, date and time using the keypad (note well: it is important to read the carefully the section in the manual describing how to key in letters, numbers and symbols), and turned to getting the D570 to join my network. I asked my wife to press the WEP button on the the router (located upstairs from my studio). In less than a minute, the D570 connected to our network. I then tested it to see if my iMac would print and scan without additional drivers. I found that it needed drivers, went online and Googled "Canon D570 printer scanner drivers." Quickly locating and downloading the drivers, I installed them and then tried to print. The printer/scanner selection on the iMac was retaining the driver for the HP unit. I deleted that and pressed the add key for printers. A list came up that included the D570. I selected it and once the D570 was active, I chose a page to test. It quickly printed a nice, high quality copy. I then tested the scanner. It is not as fast as the HP was (when it functioned), but I can live with slow scans at 600dpi, when the quality of the PDF is excellent. As of now I am satisfied with the D570, but given my extremely negative experience with the HP-234sdwe (after using HP printer/scanner products for over 20 years!), it remains quite possible this Canon will disappoint as well. Time will tell.

It was stupid, easy to set up actualy my cat did the setup
So the interface was kind of clunky Took a little bit to figure out why the device even though it was a sign denied p address on my network , my network router wasn't picking it up Some issue with a protocol and my router didn't like or something stupid. Where the router didnt see it as a connected device. After I get that squared away from start to finish , it was about forty five minutes That includes unboxing and assigning the ip address. Recording the mac address of my network sheets I know what devices what And the windows driver's big surprise microsoft sucks I had to go to cannon's website. Download their drive as first page came up. A 404. second item down installed. No problem ten minutes later after it's installed and scanning across my network. No problems set in test pages across the network, no problem. Even though it doesn't say that the device has a network port on it, it does have it RJ45. It does its at least a 10 100 I mention this because that almost caused me not to purchase this printer. Because I wanted something that had the capability to be hardwired into my network. ***To the vendor*** Add that to the description as this in many cases may be a reason someone may not get this. I've been in many environments where you have a network drop, but no wireless connectivity. And the best part the absolute best part. It doesn't require you to sign up with an account to use it like [hp] does. This is coming from somebody who was an HP fan boy from the days of lazerjet4 and jetdirect boxes... Sorry, Hewlett Packard After you forced people to after purchasing a printer to sign up with an HP account and Not allow me to print or use the printer. I just purchased until I did so. You lost me as a customer forever.

Reliable printer
Printer is solid and having duplex is a very nice feature. I do not need a lot of multi page copying so noyt having that is no problem for me. The touch screen is OK but not intuitive.I had to review how to get numeric vs alpha entered.

So easy to set up
I chose this machine because I had a Canon before and I loved it. I tried the ink, but I hate ink. It's just too expensive and messy. I love the toner. I still have to figure out how to shut off the 2 sided printing, but I'm loving it.

My lack of research, I did not look for the automatic feeder for scanning/printing.
It does not have the autofeed/stack feeder for printing/scanning.
