I purchased this universal because reviews for motor cutoff lanyards advertised for my 3.5hp Tohatsu long shaft contained comments stating that the kill switch fork was too thin to be effective. Combined with the positive reviews, I took this as an indication that the thickness was at the edge of tolerance for all motors. This lanyard definitely has forks that fit the switch, there are probably 2 or 3 in the set that will work. I'll probably cut off the unnecessary ones (and keep them as spares in case I run across anyone who lost their kill switch lanyard) and fo on without concern over the motor cutting off. The coiled cord itself seems to be good. The clip is plastic, but so was the one being replaced so no issues there.

I only needed one key out of the whole collection, and I removed the ones I didn't need. That was not difficult. Not sure how long the plastic carabiner clip will last, but not a difficult replacement. The whole thing cost less than a dedicated OEM clip and I knew I was getting the one (Merc) that I needed.

Bought this in 2017. Boat has been stored inside my garage since then with only 2 outings. It works and fits great but after 6 years the red plastic coating is cracking and chipping off of the string that runs thru the center. String didn't break but coating is shot. I don't trust it to do its job anymore so I bought a new one just like it. I'll coat it with some marine 303 protectant which I didn't do on my original lanyard from 2017. Like I said, I trust the string, not the plastic coating.

We have a couple different small boat motors. This lanyard has a kill switch for each. We wanted a set of spares in case one gets lost while out on the ocean. Would hate to get lost at sea because of a little kill switch. Thank you for the wide variety.

Lanyard extra keys work on my 2017 Kawasaki 310X. Two of the keys work on my jetski. One is tight so not great for safety key however as a backup its nice to have two out of the 11 keys. I will carry the extra keys in my toolkit for other jetskis just in case.
