Pfister R89-1NCC Contempra Series Valve Trim, Polished Chrome Finish

This particular Trim kit is a substantial heavy duty trim. It was exactly what I needed to give my shower a newer more modern look. A heavy machined handle not some cheap plated plastic. Does not come with anything other than the valve trim but that's all I needed. I bought two as I upgraded two showers.

This handle feels super heavy duty and substancial! It does not feel cheap and flimsy when manipulating. the handle. What an awesome upgrade!Installation is easy with no need for sealant. I used silicon grease on the threads when installing in tyhe hope that when time goes by the removal is easier if need be!

Description is good, easy to follow instructions and packaged perfectly. Fits good if trying to update an older pfister style valve.

I like this model, and it looks great. I have no regrets, and the flat-black is very striking and very modern looking. Ok, all that said… if you have hard water, be prepared for a lot of maintenance. My hard water leaves spots that are way more noticeable on flat-black than they would on chrome or brushed aluminum. You will be wiping down frequently. I keeep a gallon of vinegar in my bathroom and use it to wipe down my black fixture once.a week, or they will start to look very spotty. This is not the product’s fault. It comes with having a combination of hard water and black fixtures. .

Fit perfect to replace my old unit. Installed in less than 10 minutes.

I ended up ordering two of these to replace some dated and disgusting builder grade Pfister fixtures in my bathrooms. As others have noted, the install is very easy - it took longer to remove the old fixture than to install the new one. The new fixture is shiny and will show water spots, but is a huge upgrade over the original.While you have the old fixture off, you may as well replace the cartridge, which is an equally quick change. Remove 4 screws, pull the old cartridge out, put the new cartridge in, and replace the 4 screws. make sure you, and those in your household, are the only ones using it. Reason: The hot and cold symbols, that let one know how to adjust the temperature using the cartridge that goes with this handle, are virtually invisible (as is the company name). Very strange, and the reason I subtracted a star. (My unit does NOT have the clear labeling you see on the pic that appears on this site.)

Perfect fit

This product was exactly as I expected. It was a good weight, nice chrome colour, twisted smoothly, no wiggly parts.The reason why I gave it 3 stars and not 5 is because there was mildew/mould inside the handle where the valve fits in. I asked for a replacement and the same issue occurred. We've had a humid summer, so maybe the products are sweating in the boxes within the warehouse, I don't know. I was able to wipe most of it out, but it was still annoying.I would buy this product again and do recommend it, as long as you don't mind a bit of cleaning.
